An Attack on Titan fan has developed a free game based on the anime!

A new fan game about the manga and anime Attack on Titan is being prepared. The game will be free-to-play, and it is planned for 2023!

Attack on Titan fans will be delighted to hear that indie developer Swammy is hard at work on a new fan game in the world of Hajime Isayama’s manga.

Indeed, this developer had already made an Attack on Titan mobile game in the past. But lately, he revised his ambitions upwards by presenting a short video of a brand new game in preparation which will run on PC.

An Attack on Titan fan game under Unreal Engine 5

The developer has worked a lot on the feeling of movement, especially concerning three-dimensional maneuvers which look more authentic than ever. The short gameplay video shows us Adult Eren jumping off a wall with his gear. Unfortunately, we don’t see any titans in this trailer yet, but it won’t be long.

The game is currently in version 0.25, and you can already test it (source). This Attack on Titan fan game will be completely free-to-play and will be released normally in 2023.

As we can see on his Twitter account, this independent developer is an unconditional fan of the manga Attack on Titan (or Shingeki no Kyojin for the purists). It will surely not be his last creation around the manga.

The developer had a lot of ambitions in this new project, maybe he will manage to make a name for himself in the industry? In any case, it only promises beautiful things in the final rendering.

Swammy does regular updates on his youtube channel concerning its fans games, enough to follow the evolution of the project.

There is still a lot of work to be done to give the game an “indispensable” aspect, especially in terms of the fluidity of the animations or the fights. There’s no indication the game will have a story or any semblance of storytellingbut who knows, we may be surprised!
