We show you some of the things you may not know about Gabi Braun in Shingeki no Kyojin.
From the first episode of season four we are introduced to Gabi Braun, a girl who enlists in Marley’s militia and is a contender for the power of the Armored Titan. Of course, she stands out a lot during the battle because of her good training, but as the story progresses many obstacles come your way that make it change in different aspects.
Although during the final season of Shingeki no Kyojin it has been one of the characters that appears the most Along with Falco Grice, there is not much information about her past or family, other than that she is linked to Reiner Braun. Indeed, has had some repercussion in the plans of the army of Eldia and the group of the Jaegers, but despite having seen all these events, you may not know some curiosities about her, so we leave you more information in the following list.
Gabi’s last name was not going to be “Braun”
It seems that Gabi was not going to be Reiner’s cousin because in one of the character sketches from Attack on Titan: Final Manga Exhibition Gabi is shown with the provisional surname of “Lübke” instead of the current one “Braun”. Let’s remember that these are things that mangaka do to put a temporary name to the characters while incorporating it into the story, which has been done very well with Gabi Braun.
Gabi’s design would be the female version of Eren
According to creator Hajime Isayama, Gabi Braun would actually be the female version of Eren Jaeger, since she is based on a sketch in which he imagined the protagonist as a woman. In fact, just before chapter 91 of the manga was released, Isayama posted this information while he was watching the UFC.
His appearance is also similar to a character from chapter 0.
In addition to being inspired by Eren Jaeger himself, his appearance also took on some characteristics of a character named “Tsubaki” who appeared in chapter 0 of Shingeki no Kyojin, which is not canon in known history. This girl was a disciple of Murakumo, the protagonist of that chapter, who was a military man and a Unknown Titan Changelingwhich in fact, is very similar to Eren’s Attack Titan.
It is good in close combat
One of the things in which Gabi Braun stands out the most is in hand-to-hand combat, and that is that thanks to her military training she has been able to beat Falco Grice in this skill. It’s probably another thing that made her a good candidate for the Armored Titan.
Gabi Braun murders
Even though Gabi Braun is just a teenager, has been responsible for murdering several people when belonging to the Marley militia:
- Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Middle East: He eliminates several soldiers who are located inside an armored train when he launches an explosive that destroys the vehicle.
- Lobov: Gabi kills Lobov when the Paradis soldiers try to escape into the blimp.
- Sasha Blouse: Being on the blimp, Gabi infiltrates and uses a rifle to shoot Sasha, who bleeds to death.
- Soldiers of the Jeagerists: During her infiltration of Paradis Island, Gabi takes out several Jaegers in a roundabout way.
Gabi Braun’s psychological problems
To be a teenager, she has had to put up with a lot since she started train in the army of marley. Although there is no explanation for his actions, it must be considered that Gabi is still very young for what he has had to deal with because, neurologically speaking, their brain is not fully developedand therefore does not have the ability to see and take responsibility like adults in this devastating world.
Parenting could be the source of her problems, and that is that Gabi, like other Marley children, has been raised with the idea that the inhabitants of Paradis Island are demons that they have no right to live, only this has made him paranoid after Eren first attacked Marley. From that moment, Gabi begins to act in a very irrational way and with a lot of fear of everything, since he thinks that anything bad that happens around him is the fault of the eldians hell, and there are even many times that the way he acts does not make any sense, which could indicate that he has some Panic Disorder, or signs of it.
However, when he begins to know a little more about the life of the Eldians when infiltrates Paradis IslandGabi begins to regain her sanity because she sees that they are people just like herbecause they have also suffered from the current situations.
