Attack On Titan And Demon Slayer Actor Tests Positive For COVID-19

The anime industry is going through its winter season and two of its heavy hitters make Sunday the best day of every week. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and The attack of the Titans keep things interesting on the weekends. Of course, that means the shows cast and crew are taking care of themselves, but a new report has confirmed that a star from both shows has tested positive for COVID-19.

The news was shared by the man himself as Hiro Shimono confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19. A statement was posted on Twitter where he assured fans that he was feeling fine and was self-quarantining in accordance with health guidelines.

Now, if the actor’s name is unfamiliar to you, then his voice most certainly rings a bell. Shimono is the voice of Connie in The attack of the Titans, so we heard it a lot in season four. Readers will know that Connie has an even bigger role in the final story arc as things progress. So at this time, it’s unclear how Shimono’s diagnosis might impact The attack of the Titans if not at all.

Of course, this series isn’t the only one Shimono is working on. He also voices Dabi in my hero academia as well as Nacht in black clover. These days, he’s been busy voicing Zenitsu in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as its second season still has two episodes. Shimono is unlikely to still be recording for the new season given how far along his production schedule is, but Shimono won’t be able to attend any events in person until his last battle with COVID-19 is over. He tested positive for the virus in July 2021, so this is his second experience with the global virus.

We wish Shimono well as he recovers. The next episode of The attack of the Titans is currently scheduled to go live this Sunday, February 6.
