While Eren’s story has come to an end on paper, the animated series will conclude early next year with the final season broadcast. Of course, the marketing campaigns have already started, although recently a series of articles became the subject of controversy.
On November 14, the anime’s official website opened the pre-sale of the bracelet replicas worn by the Eldians in the show. However, a day later the sale of this item closed its doors after a violent reaction from a sector of the community.

Why did the Attack on Titan bracelets cause controversy?
In the context of the anime, the state of Marley passed a law that requires all Eldians to wear the arm bracelet to differentiate them from the rest of the population. These people live in low-income residences and have to deal with oppression every day.
Certainly these objects from the history of Attack on Titan They serve a very similar function to the bracelets used by Jews during World War II. As if the above were not enough, its symbol also bears many similarities to the Star of David.
It is a fictional story which contemplates issues of racism, oppression and authoritarianism, occasionally making parallels to real life examples of it, and using imagery directly referencing them.

Some fans assured on social networks that the anime bracelet can be misinterpreted as a symbol of racial oppression and discrimination, making it offensive that people can buy and use them on the street. Of course, there were also those who assured that it is a mistake to buy a fictitious object with a real one.
Either way, the committee responsible for selling the merchandise decided to backtrack and canceled all the orders. Additionally, he published a message on his official website and on social networks where he apologized and assured that they will not tolerate any type of discrimination.
