Armin and Gabi have a long way to go if they want to catch up with Conny and Falco, and they’ll have their work cut out for them when they finally do. As Mikasa points out, it won’t be as simple as telling Conny that her mother needs to stay a Titan. If they find it in time, Armin and Gabi can expect resistance.
As the Braun family grows apart from Gabi, they wonder if Conny will have second thoughts about killing a child for her own gain. That seems to be Falco’s only hope at the moment: that his captor’s awareness of him buys Armin and Gabi enough time to save him.
And as Armin tells Mikasa, saving Falco could dictate the future of humanity. Even if Eren eliminates all of his enemies outside of Paradis Island, the existence of the Nine Titans could lead to “another 2,000 years of war.” Armin hopes to prevent that from coming to fruition.
