MAPPA, production company in charge of Shingeki no Kyojin, opens new CGI animation studio | Spaghetti Code

One of the great studios that are recognized for works such as Shingeki no Kyojin, jujutsu kaisen, Yuri on Iceamong other, MAPhas expansion plans by revealing that it is in the process of open a new office in Osaka, home to a CGI-level animation studioto facilitate the work of the animators of that area.

Through MAPPA’s social networks, it was announced that this office will specialize in jobs specifically in 3DCG, background artphotography, finishing, editing and even design. This office is so that even the creators and students who live in the Kansai region do not leave their hometowns and can continue to work in the anime industry.

In addition, the new Osaka studio will collaborate directly with the Tokyo studio and its Sendai offices, which also have a department specializing in CGI animation.

MAPPA’s director of CGI department, Yusuke Tannawa, and the second director of the Production department, Keisuke Seshita, pointed out that the new studio will allow other areas such as animation, production and CGI to merge in the same way as what happens in Tokyoto keep the entire production process within the company and without contracting third-party companies.
