The SPY x FAMILY fanbook is something you’re going to want to get your hands on…

The SPY x FAMILY Fanbook has brought together some of the best manga artists, including the creators of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), Dandan, Blue Exorcist, and more. Each one of them has paid tribute to the work of Tatsuya Endo in a unique way, with illustrations that portray the style of each artist and shows us what our trio of protagonists would look like in different worlds.

This official art book is titled as EYES ONLY, which in addition to the collaboration of these artists, offers information about the characters of the popular espionage series and the art of the creator Tatsuya Endo. Some of the mangaka included in this tribute to Tatsuya Endo are Hajime Isayama, the creator of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), the author of Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, Yuji Kaku, Tsuyoshi Takaki of Heart Gear, the creator of Dandadan, Yukinobu Tatsu, and Blue Exorcist artist Kazue Kato.

The unofficial Weekly Shonen Jump News account shared a selection of the official art contained in this SPY x FAMILY book. Most of the artists chose to draw the main characters of the series, the Forger family, although Blue Lock’s Yosuke Nomura created an illustration of Yuri Briar and Fiona Frost. The EYES ONLY fanbook was released in Japan on May 2. A localized release for other territories has not been announced, but we hope to hear about it soon.

One of the interesting versions that we see in the EYES ONLY fanbook of SPY x FAMILY is the one made by Somato from Shadows House that perfectly illustrates the friendly relationship between Anya and her “school friend”. In this way, we see what this pair would look like in a more gloomy and horror-filled work.

An interesting detail is that not only are there mangaka within EYES ONLY, there is also a tribute from singer LiSa, known for the opening of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), which shows how popular this series has become. It seems that Tatsuya Endo’s work is attracting more and more people’s attention.

SPY x FAMILY a success guaranteed by its unique proposal

SPY x FAMILY started in 2019 as an exclusive title for Shonen Jump+, the digital-only spin-off of Shueisha’s successful Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Endo’s manga was a critical and commercial success; the series has a circulation of over 17 million copies worldwide and was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2021. An anime adaptation of the manga premiered earlier this year. Production of the new TV show is being handled as a collaboration between Wit Studio, which previously worked on the first three seasons of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), and CloverWorks, the studio behind last season’s hit rom-com. , My Dress-Up Darling.

The series is set in a Cold War-inspired world and tells the story of a super spy known only by his code name, Twilight. When his next mission requires him to pose as a traditional family man, Twilight takes on the alias “Loid Forger” and quickly forms a fake family to get closer to his next target. Nevertheless, Loid doesn’t realize that her new family also has secrets of their own.– His new daughter, Anya, is actually a fugitive test subject with telepathic abilities, while his new wife, Yor, lives a second life as a ruthless killer.

While other manga creators contributed to the SPY x FAMILY book, Tatsuya Endo created his own art to pay tribute to Akira Toriyama, as he was one of the manga artists chosen to participate in Shueisha’s Dragon Ball Super Gallery project. Endo redrew one of Akira Toriyama’s classic manga covers in his own distinctive style.
