A trailer for Bubble, the all-star team anime film that includes original Shingeki No Kyojin director Tetsuko Araki, was recently released. and the co-creator of Madoka Magica. This new trailer briefly shows the magnificent animation of this attractive anime film and is set to the song “Bubble feat. Uta” by Japanese singer-songwriter Eve, who previously performed the original theme song for Jujutsu Kaisen.
The expectations for Bubble’s feature film are quite high, as the film will be produced by an all-star team that has worked with some of the most celebrated creators in the anime industry. Notably The film will feature character designs by Death Note artist Takeshi Ohbata, a score by Promare composer Hiroyuki Sawano, and a script by Madoka Magica co-creator Gen Urobuchi.. The project is in charge of director Tetsuro Araki, known for directing the first three seasons of Shingeki No Kyojin, as well as the anime adaptation of Death Note and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. Bubble is being produced by Wit Studio, the great animation company behind the acclaimed Ranking of Kings and one of the most lauded original anime productions of 2021, Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song.
Synopsis for Bubble
Bubble is set in a highly colorful post-apocalyptic version of Tokyo.. After the metropolis is flooded by a rain of bubbles that defy gravity, it is abandoned by most of its inhabitants and due to this it ends up becoming the battlefield of a series of territorial gangs, whose young fighters use parkour and the zone’s altered physics to perform death-defying stunts. The film focuses on Hibiki’s story, a particularly reckless member of one of these gangs, whose life is saved by Uta, a girl with strange powers that are somehow connected to bubbles. In this way, the couple is united by a mysterious sound that no one but them can hear.
In addition to what we have previously mentioned, we know that the film will star Jun Shison, in the role of Hibiki. In fact, Shison is known for having previously starred in the live-action adaptations of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day and The Way of the Househusband. On the other hand, Bubble will also feature the acting debut of Japanese pop singer Riria, who will play Uta and will also perform the ending theme of the film, titled “Ja ne, Mata ne”. In fact, Riria was personally selected for the role by director Araki. The film will also feature the talent of voice actors Mamoru Miyano (Death Note, Chihayafuru), Tasuku Hatanaka (My Hero Academia), and Yuuki Kaji (Eren Jaeger from Shingeki no Kyojin).
It is planned that Bubble premieres internationally as a Netflix streaming exclusive on April 28, but will open in Japanese theaters on May 13..
