Watch Machine Head Perform Choke On The Ashes Of Your Hate Live For The First Time

Machine Head’s Robb Flynn and Jared MacEachern held the latest Electric Happy Hour this Friday and performed the band’s new single, Choke On The Ashes Of Your Hate, live for the first time. You can watch the performance video below.

Choke On The Ashes Of Your Hate will be featured on Machine Head’s tenth studio album, Of Kingdom And Crown, out August 26 via Nuclear Blast/Imperium Recordings.

The follow-up album to 2018’s Catharsis will also include the three songs that featured on last year’s Arrows In Words From The Sky single: Become The Firestorm, Rotten and Arrows In Words From The Sky.

Much of Machine Head’s new album was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with producer Zack Ohren.

Of Kingdom And Crown is a 13-track concept album set in a decimated futuristic wasteland where the sky is tinged with crimson red. The heart of the story rests on two main characters: the first is Ares, who loses the love of his life (Amethyst) and goes on a rampage against the nefarious sect responsible for his murder; the second is Eros, who loses his mother to an overdose and later becomes radicalized. Eros loses control and starts killing with all his might. The lyrics detail how their lives intertwine.

Flynn commented: “Thanks to my two teenagers, my family became obsessed with this awesome Japanese anime series called Attack On Titan. The concept of the album was loosely inspired by the series in the sense that, in the story, there is no “good guy” or “bad guy”; both characters believe they are doing what is right for them, but make no mistake, they are both committing acts of sheer atrocity and malevolence. The opening track, Slaughter The Martyr, is actually the origin story of our first character.”

“This colossal concept comes with an equally colossal packaging list for the various physical formats, including 16 different vinyl formats worldwide, a deluxe vinyl box set (with bonus tracks), CDs (with longbox options and old-school jewel box), multicolored cassette tapes and a limited-edition digipack with bonus tracks. CDs, digipacks, cassettes and all digital formats will be available on August 26, and all vinyl formats on November 25.”
