demon slayer is a highly acclaimed and hugely popular anime that has been praised for its animation and characters. However, that doesn’t mean that neither the characters nor the collaborators from the anime and manga have made any mistakes throughout the series.
From Hashira, unable to protect the innocent, to a demon king who doesn’t always make the best decisions, the characters in demon slayer they are not perfect. Similarly, the author and directors of the anime and manga have also made mistakes that have raised eyebrows. Despite these mistakes, the anime has been hugely successful and has garnered fans from far and wide.
8 Muzan Probably Regrets Turning Nezuko
One of Muzan’s biggest mistakes was his attack on the Kamado family and the subsequent turning of Nezuko into a demon. It was a happy accident that Nezuko became a demon and that she was then able to walk in the sun, which was Muzan’s goal all along.

10 mistakes that still haunt Nintendo
Muzan did not expect this when he turned Nezuko and left her on Kamado’s estate for Tanjiro to find and save her. This not only meant that the answer to Muzan’s goal lay in the hands of the other side, but also that Tanjiro had a motive to kill Muzan.
7 Losing Rengoku So Quickly Felt Like A Disadvantage
Kyojuro Rengoku captivated fans with his lovable personality and impressive fighting spirit, which also impressed Akaza. However, his quick death during the Mugen train arc meant that fans were doomed to mourn his new beloved favorite.
Although Rengoku’s death served an end and was arguably necessary for the progression of the plot demon slayer , the rapid nature of this event was the problem. The showrunners and author made fans fall in love with it and then took it away; fans wanted a little more time with him.
6 Muzan Probably Regrets Letting Tamayo Go Too
In the beginning, Tamayo was a follower of Muzan, although she was not willing to be, but after the fateful encounter between Yoriichi and Muzan, Tamayo was able to go on her own. It’s not that Muzan didn’t try to find and stop Tamayo, but that she found a way to stay out of it.
Tamayo’s subsequent meeting with Tanjiro seemed convenient enough. However, Tamayo’s experiments with demon blood were an integral part of Tanjiro and Nezuko’s search. Although Muzan insisted on finding a way to walk in the sun, he distanced himself from all those who had achieved it for him and that continued to torment him.
5 Making Zenitsu’s Power Only Available When He’s Asleep Makes Him Unable To Participate
Zenitsu certainly has his character flaws, but the two most obvious are his obsession with women and his cowardice. However, that cowardice disappears when he is asleep and his sleeper-self fights for him with impressive speed and power. Although it’s a cool trick at first, it soon becomes more of a problem than a solution.
Zenitsu cannot get stronger on his own (while awake). Also, anime and manga writers demon slayer they must always have a reason for him to be asleep to fight.
4 Muzan’s Failing To Have The Major Demons Eliminate All The Hashira Seems Like An Oversight
Like the fans of demon slayer saw with Akaza, high level demons are incredibly strong. Fans wonder why Muzan hasn’t had them team up to fight the Hashira, especially when he’s so desperate to kill Tanjiro. According to Enmu, Tanjiro’s reputation preceded him, and Tanjiro’s death had been ordered.
However, Enmu failed, as he was not strong enough, and Akaza, while able to kill Kyojuro, was unable to kill Tanjiro. If Muzan had wanted Tanjiro or any of the Hashira dead, he would have sent two high level demons.
3 Having So Many Types Of Breathing Can Be Confusing
The power system found in demon slayer it’s a bit different than what many shonen fans are used to. There are many different types of breathing styles that don’t necessarily seem to go together or section off easily.
This makes fans of demon slayer wonder why Breathing Sun should be so different from Breathing Fire, other than to give Tanjiro a lineage that makes him a threat to the villain of the series.
2 The Death Of So Many Demon Slayers And Slayer Candidates Points Out The Hypocrisy
Hashira often do controversial things and come across as harsh and insensitive quite often. They often send their subordinates to their deaths, as seen in the Natagumo Mountain arc. Also, the selection process to become a Demon Slayer involves many unnecessary deaths.
This seems so contrary to Rengoku’s claim that he would always save his subordinates. However, it’s not necessarily the Hashira’s fault, as they also answer to someone else. Still, their methods and results seem problematic next to their goals and philosophies.
1 Having Tanjiro Unable To Decide His Breathing Style Makes Him Simultaneously Too Weak And Too Strong
Tanjiro’s main attacks are part of the Water Breathing Style, popularized by Sakonji Urokodaki and Giyu Tomioka. However, he also learns the Hinokami Kagura, which is a Solar Breathing move. It makes sense for him to try to learn Water Breathing since he was found by the Hashira of Water.
However, as Kyojuro said when he saw Tanjiro’s black sword, those who wield a black Nichirin Blade are often unable to decide which breathing style they want to learn and die as a result. However, that often works in your favor, which is also quite convenient.
