Ajin

Castlevania

We continue this selection with other supernatural beings! Castlevania is an adaptation of Konami’s cult game series. The series is supported by Frederator Studio and headed by writer Warren Ellis (Batman: Gotham Knights). Our story begins when an anti-vampire inquisition attacks the wife of Lord Vlad Dracula Tepes. Consumed by anger following the death of his beloved, he decides to take his revenge on the people of Wallachia. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is a manga created by Koyoharu Gotouge and adapted into anime by Ufotable studio from 2019. We follow the life of Tanjiro Kamado, a normal young man living with his family in the snowy mountains from Japan. One day, as he returns home, he finds his family massacred. Only his sister, Nezuko, survived the attack, but something even more terrible hits the young hero’s family. Indeed, Nezuko is gradually transforming into a demon. Tanjiro then goes in search of answers and revenge, and will become a demon slayer along the way.


Devilman Crybaby

Based on the work of Go Nagai in 1972, Devilman Crybaby is an anime adaptation produced by Science SARU. At the controls of the anime, we find Masaaki Yuasa (Mind Game) while the novelist Ichiro Okouchi takes over the writing. Once ruled by demons, our planet now belongs to humans. It is in this context that Akira Fudo learns via a relative that demons always act in the shadows. The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare

After a video game adaptation supervised by CD Projekt RED, it’s time for the world of animation to explore the universe of The Witcher from the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski. The Witcher: The Wolf’s Nightmare is an anime film directed by Kwang Il Han (Dota: Dragon’s Blood). This spin-off of The Witcher narrates the life of Vesemir, the master of the famous Geralt De Riv. Faced with a kingdom victim of a strange creature and shaken by political turmoil, the young witcher takes up arms… at the risk of witnessing the fall of the wolf school and the dissipation of his brothers in arms.


Tokyo Ghoul

It was in 2014 that the manga Tokyo Ghoul by Sui Ishida is adapted into an animated series. Produced by the Pierrot studio, known for the adaptations of Naruto or GTO, Tokyo Ghoul meets with success with the general public. The work focuses on the life of Ken Kaneki, a young Tokyo student chased by a ghoul, a creature that feeds on human flesh. Kaneki is barely saved, but is transformed into a hybrid, half-ghoul, half-man following a surgical operation. The life of the young man has just rocked forever in horror.


Valkyrie Apocalypse

Valkyrie Apocalypse is an anime released on June 17, 2021 and produced by Graphinica studio. The original manga is illustrated by Ajichika and scripted by duo Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui. Every millennium, the gods meet in Valhalla to decide the fate of mankind. Zeus, who presides over this assembly, makes the decision to put an end to the reign of Men on Earth and to eradicate them. The Valkyrie Brunhild then offers to give humanity one last chance during a deadly tournament that will see 13 men and 13 gods compete.


Yasuke

Yasuke is an animated series directed by Lesean Thomas and Takeshi Sato, and produced by MAPPA studio (Attack on Titan final season, The God of Highschool, etc). Yasuke is freely inspired by the samurai of the same name, the first high-ranking African warrior in Japanese lands. Formerly a samurai, Yasuke retired to become a boatman, but must finally take up arms again in order to protect a mysterious child.
