‘Chainsaw Man’ confirms premiere date and shows Denji’s violent transformation

If you thought that the Mappa studio was finished after almost finishing ‘Attack on Titan’, the new trailer for ‘Chainsaw Man’ has left us cold and we already want it to be released.

The announcement of the definitive end of Attack on Titan seemed to have the Mappa studio against the canvas, until the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and the anime with its season 1 restored the confidence of many otaku. This morning, from Japan, they released a new preview of their ace up their sleeve, chainsaw man, the long-awaited adaptation of mangaka Tatsuki FujimotoAnd if that wasn’t enough, they confirmed their release date for before the end of the year. Not everything is Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super: Superhero.

So settled the delays and rumors regarding the release of this show, as rumors suggested that it would be the saving card after the third part of the last season of Attack on Titan. However, that will no longer be the case. Chainsaw Man will anticipate that phenomenon and the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen, set for 2023, to begin to carve out his own path within all the already popular shonen. In fact, it will debut the same season as the sixth part of My Hero Academia.

We are located in a dystopian world where human beings coexist with demons, a relationship that is not friendly at all, at least for Denji, the protagonist, an unlucky boy who inherited his deceased father’s debts to the yakuza and is forced to pay every penny. He has no choice but to sell his organs and work as a demon hunter in exchange for a few yen. That is, friends who are not familiar with the manga, the theme of the hunters returns, Demon Slayer style but visceral, raw and merciless.

Along the way, he meets Pochita, a dog with a chainsaw face that he finds badly injured near his mother’s grave.. After curing him, the hound repays him with fidelity and the fury of his fierce blades hunting other creatures, until the yakuza betray them and send them to a slow and brutal death. In a warehouse, both characters are devoured by a horde of zombies. The only salvation, with the dismembered bodies, is to merge their hearts and be reborn as Chainsaw man, a demon capable of turning his limbs and face into chainsaws.

Denji’s disfigured face before transforming.

Fujimoto created this manga, which just resumed publication after a hiatus, for his fanaticism about the director Tobe Hooper and his slasher masterpiece The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Chainsaw Man also showed us Aki (the fox) and Power (demon), part of the special squad led by Makima, all present in this trailer.

His final form as Chainsaw Man.

However, the best thing is that it shows us Denji’s transformation into Chainsaw Man. Pulling on a cable, he detonates Pochita’s engine to destroy her face with the birth of a powerful saw. “He’s a human, but he’s also a demon,” says Makima. The premiere is dated for October of this year, surely with simultaneous broadcast through Crunchyroll and Funimation.
