Murderer of demons Season 2 doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but it does tease some major developments before coming to a close. For one, it introduces new potential villains, starting with the former Top Rank 6 demon Doma (Mamoru Miyano).
Although we only see Doma during a flashback, it is very likely that she rose to the top when Gyutaro (Ryota Osaka) and Daki (Miyuki Sawashiro/Erica Lindbeck) took on the role. The anime has to have some reason to feature it. We may find out what it is in season 3.
Akaza (Akira Ishida/Lucien Dodge) also finds himself summoned by a superior in the finale. That could lead to the introduction of another villain, or amplify Akaza’s vow to seek revenge against Tanjiro.
In addition to causing new evils, Murderer of demons suggests that the Hashira need to do some recruiting in Season 3. With Kyojuro Rengoku (Satoshi Hino/Mark Whitten) gone and Tengen Uzui (Katsuyuki Konishi/Ray Chase) retiring, their numbers are dwindling. Tengen suggests that Tanjiro could become one of the elite demon slayers. However, he has work to do before he reaches that level.
With all of that set at the end of the Entertainment District Arc, there are plenty of questions to answer in season 3. Fans feeling impatient can look them up in the Murderer of demons manga Where should they start reading?
