Animation studio Ufotable’s production schedule remains busy for the next two years. Nothing has been revealed for the year 2022 or 2023, but we know that there are major projects in production: Girls Work, Katsugeki Touken Ranbu (film), Mahou Tsukai no Yoru (film) and therefore the third season of Demon Slayer.
The last information dates back to April 16, 2022. A short trailer had been broadcast. Since then, it’s been radio silence, so we can expect a new release in the coming weeks. An original trailer should be broadcast, in addition to a visual and a possible more precise release date. We’ll be sure to update this article when it becomes official or sufficiently credible leaks emerge.
There are many animation studios in the middle of the Japanese industry. Everyone must move forward with their own schedule, more or less busy. But what is certain is that we observe on average a delay of about 12 to 18 months after the announcement of a new season before the first episode is broadcast. This would logically take us to April 2023!
However, this estimate should be taken with a grain of salt. On the one hand, the sequel to the anime was announced after the airing of the last episode of the second season. We have no certainty that production had already started at that time. The success of the Demon Slayer adaptation has surely already prompted the producers and the animation studio to design a sequel even as the second season was being released. However, caution should be exercised. It is possible that the delay of 12 to 18 months will be triggered from the first trailer broadcast, that is to say April 16, 2022. If we cross information, this gives us a release date in the summer of 2023.
On October 15, 2022, we learn that new information will be communicated on December 10, 2022.
