the occasion of the broadcast on Canal + of the film which was released in theaters in May 2021, we offer you a review of the anime Demon Slayer – The Infinity Train.
In 2016 a manga was released that would last 23 volumes and sell tens of millions of copies worldwide. This gave birth to the first season of an eponymous anime television series, which was also included in a film, and this new film whose arc will be repeated in 6 episodes in the second season to come.
The screenplay for the feature film is written by the author herself, Koyoharu Gotouge. It is therefore completely faithful to its universe and its characters and allows them to be deployed in a particularly tense and emotional story.
After their training and their previous mission, Tanjir, his two friends Zen’itsu and Inosuke and his half-demon sister Nezuko will team up with an extremely powerful Flame Pillar. They will all board a very mysterious train from which several people have disappeared and will try to unearth the demon who is guilty of these misdeeds.
Haruo Sotozaki’s film thus reserves many particularly spectacular confrontations. It’s really a feast for the eyes, while the various attacks of the different heroes try to supplant those of their adversary. Especially since this one is able to manipulate dreams, it allows you to discover each of the protagonists in happy moments that they would like to find or obtain. These strange false internal flashbacks also allow us to know a little better the new central character that we discover.
The protagonists are still endearing and demons continue to be particularly interesting, while having great power. These unequal confrontations are therefore very spectacular. Because if humans can be seriously injured quickly, for the higher demons, there are not many ways to put an end to their existence.
The Japanese dubbing is also excellent and each of the individuals has a real personality thanks to those who embody them.
The train is central to the story. However, the decorations know how to renew themselves regularly. Not to mention that the interior journeys of the various characters make it possible to discover very varied environments, and sometimes surprising, like the hidden personality of the latter.
The animation is really very good. It incorporates some 3D images, which are not always the most visually successful, and offers elements that seem to come straight out of an animated manga. The attacks, the image of their names, are all more spectacular than each other. As for the demons, between their regeneration capacities and their multiple assaults, we regularly take our eyes off them.
Moreover, if you have no knowledge of the universe, the characters make it easy to apprehend it and certainly give you a very great desire to discover much more, either in the mangas which are published in France, or in the series or in the previous film. Meanwhile, of course, the second season of the series.
Demon Slayer: The Infinity Train is a very good anime to discover the epic adventures of young people fighting against demons to protect humans. With a story reserving its share of bravery, a really pleasant realization and characters that we take a lot of pleasure to find, we really should not hesitate to watch this work which was moreover a major success when it was released in theaters. in Japan, and which delighted French spectators during a special indoor programme.
Impressive and grand.
