Anime of October 2022: what’s new
While Ao Ashi has just finished its first season, another soccer anime enters. Adaptation of the eponymous manga written by Kaneshiro Muneyuki and drawn by Nomura Yusuke, Blue Lock has the particularity of going against the grain of the principles of sports manga encouraging team cohesion. The plot takes place in Japan, the day after the 2018 World Cup. The country’s failure in the round of 16 prompts the Japan Football Union to launch the ‘Blue Lock’ program, which aims to create the ‘perfect striker’able to score as many goals as possible. 300 young players, selected from among the best in the archipelago, are then brought together in a training center looking like a futuristic prison and opposed to each other in the selection phases. In the end, only one will remain. We follow more closely the journey of Yoichi Isagi, a player who harbors regrets after his high school team failed in a decisive match, where he decided to pass a teammate who missed his shot instead. to score himself. To be the last survivor of this “battle royale” of the round ball, he will have no choice but to abandon the collective game and raise his individual level. The anime is signed by the studio 8-Bit (Me, when I am reincarnated as Slime, Tokyo Ravens…) and the director Tetsuaki Watanabe. Still being published, the manga has 20 volumes, including 9 for the moment published in France by Pika editions.

chain saw man
This is one of the biggest expectations of this season, and even of the year. A brainchild of Tatsuki Fujimoto (Fire Punch), chain saw man is a real phenomenon, “an unclassifiable manga” as described by Kazé, its publisher in France (11 volumes available). It takes place in a world where demons are born from human fears. The greater the fear they arouse, the more powerful the demons are. But humans can also make contracts with them to use their power. We follow the adventure of Denji, a teenager who works as a demon hunter (“Devil Hunter”) to pay off his debts with the help of his dog-demon-chainsaw Pochita. But following a betrayal, when he finds himself on the verge of death, Denji merges with his companion and becomes a half-human, half-chainsaw-headed demon.. He later joins an experimental government unit, Special Section 4, tasked with tracking down the Gun Demon, one of the most powerful demons. The anime promises to be as bloody and explosive as the manga thanks to the work of the studio MAPPA, at the origin of Dorohedoro, The God of High School, Jujutsu Kaisen or even the final season of Attack on Titan. Note that each episode will have an ending produced by a different artist, including Eve (Jujutsu Kaisen), Aimer (Demon Slayer) or Toru Kitajima. (Tokyo Ghoul)

He scrambles to live a normal life, only using his abilities when helping his boss Arataka Reigen, a trickster posing as a skilled exorcist.
