Game Awards 2021: Deathloop wins in nominations without surprises

Deathloop takes the lead in the somewhat disappointing 2021 Game Awards nominations.

As usual, the big man Geoff Keighley unveiled on November 16, 2021 the list of games and personalities nominated for the Game Awards, the end of year ceremony of the tenth art. In a short time, it became an important industry event, this little video game show is less expected for its awards than for its worldwide announcements, almost as imposing as those of E3.

Thus, the Game Awards will take place on the night of December 9 to 10, 2021, and will offer, as in previous years, the possibility for the public to vote via the official website of the event.

However, it must be recognized that in view of its substantial number of categories, we will be a little surprised at the lack of madness of this selection. While the diversity of video games is more impressive than ever, it is somewhat disappointing to see the same games come back in full force (even Cyberpunk 2077…).

Deathloop thus establishes itself as the most present game with eight nominations. The PlayStation exclusivity does not, however, prevent Xbox from competing with several games (including independent) released on Game Pass, such as Forza Horizon 5, Psychonauts 2 or 12 Minutes. Nintendo side, the publisher will especially have to rely on the comeback of Samus Aran in Metroid Dread.

It therefore remains to wait for the votes to open. For our part, our very enthusiastic test of Metroid Dread, or that of Forza Horizon 5 should lead us to have some foals.
