Legend of Mana -The Teardrop Crystal-an anime that will adapt the story of the famous RPG Legend of Mana of Square on playstationreleased as a remaster last year on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC then on android and iOS, had already resurfaced last April, where we learned that the broadcast will begin this year. We now have a specific date, the Japanese branch of Warner Bros. and Square Enix having announced that the first episode will be broadcast on October 7 at 6:25 p.m. (French time) on the programming block Super Animeism Chains MBS, TBS and their affiliates. At this time, we don’t know if the anime will be simulcast outside of Japan. However, the trailer released at the end of June is officially subtitled in English, just like the April teaser was. The ad that aired a few days ago featured a snippet of the song used for the opening credits, Tear of Willperformed by Saori Hayami and composed / arranged by Kevin Penkin. The long version of the song will also be available from October 7.
The story will pick up on that of the game, which we will follow through the point of view of the original protagonist in his male form and with his default name: Shiloh. This young boy lives near the town of Domina. One day, he begins to hear a mysterious voice in his dreams. This voice tells him that he had a mission… Subsequently, Shiloh meets two characters from the people of Jumi, a race persecuted because of their jewel buried in their chests. Not long ago, mysterious jewel thieves attacked Jumi all over the world. This is how Shiloh embarks on an adventure to save the Jumi. We learn in passing that the adventure will begin from the narrative arc of the Jumi. However, you should know that in the game, the adventure is intended to be non-linear with several ways to move forward, which allows you to move forward at your own pace and go freely where you want without being held in your hand too much. We imagine that the other story arcs will also be adapted with a free order. However, there will be a surprise. Normally, in the game, one can choose between the hero and the heroine, and by choosing one version, the other will not appear during the adventure. But in the anime, both versions will appear. Indeed, we will find Shiloh, but also Serafina (the heroine’s basic name), which will reveal differences in the story, especially since officially for the anime, she is described as “another protagonist”.

Japan confirms that Yoko Shimomura is back for the composition of the music. Recently, she also worked on the supervision of the music arrangement of the HD-2D remake of Live A Live, in addition to having supervised the arrangement of the music for the remaster of Legend of Mana last year. Of course she’s back for Kingdom Hearts IV. We can also hear in the teaser of the anime Legend of Mana -The Teardrop Crystal- an extract from the song Song of MANA, interpreted by the Swedish singer Annika Ljungberg.
The official website which had opened its doors when the anime was announced already contained a first visual and a message from the producer of the Mana saga Masaru Oyamada where he claims that the project was revealed to him when the remaster of Legend of Mana was not yet planned. At first there was not much thought about it, but when Mr Yawata from Warner Bros. Japan presented him with the Legend of Mana anime project with a lot of love and passion, he realized that the game absolutely had to be released as a remaster. This would be how the Legend of Mana remaster project began. He ended his message by telling fans that they can be reassured of the quality of the anime since those involved still have a deep love for the series, as they once did. Note that the anime team also produced the animated opening cutscene for the Legend of Mana remaster.
We no longer present Saori Hayami who has voiced a very large number of characters, whether protagonists or lesser characters in anime, video games, animated films and drama CDs. In terms of video games, you may have heard it for example in recent years in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Lora and Fan la Norne / Haze, including in Torna: The Golden Country where they had an important role), Dragalia Lost (Elisanne) Valkyria Chronicles 4 (Minerva Victor) Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate (Gaya), 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (Ryoko Shinonome), Shin Megami Tensei V (Tao Isonokami) or even Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles (Shinobu Kocho). She also dubs many characters in foreign series and films (animated or not). Moreover, she is also a singer and so this is not the first time that she performs a song for an anime where she also has a major role. For the anime adaptation of Legend of Mana, so she dubs Serafina and performs the opening song, and lately she performed the song Awakecomposed by TK of Ling tosite figurefor the end credits of the anime RWBY: Ice Queendomand on top of that double the heroin Ruby Rose.

He continues his collaborations with Japanese works (Touhou Zerokyo Shinju ~ Sanctified Vengeance, Norn9, Steins; Gate Symphonic Reunion, Deemo, Under the Dog…) and becomes even more famous by working with the studio Kinema Citrus.
This is how he composes again, first of all for the anime adaptation of Norn9then for Made in Abyss and The Rising of the Shield Hero.
