After several months of waiting, the film One Piece RED arrived in France during the preview of the animated feature film at the Grand Rex this weekend. The first figures for the Japanese box office have already fallen and put GorÅ Taniguchi’s film in the history of Japan. Do not worry, this article does not spoil One Piece RED.
One Piece RED is already hitting hard
In Japan, it’s already been an event since its release on August 6th. The fifteenth film in the franchise One Piece which celebrates 25 years manga is unanimous in the land of the Rising Sun. In just one day, the anime film grossed over 1 billion yen in Japanese box office earnings. Which equals 7.8 million euros. In two days, the film exceeds the 15 million euros reported to Japan’s film industry. No doubt when the film is released in the rest of the world, these numbers will literally explode.
In France, the release of One Piece RED is scheduled for August 10 and should bring together several million fans when we know the craze around manga feature films in France. This was already the case for the release of the film Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 where French fans were particularly wild.
