Isayama’s favorite character could play a pivotal role in the final battle of Shingeki no Kyojin.
Now what Shingeki no Kyojin raised his last story arc, previously culminating in Mikasa’s murder of Eren, the story arguably had a good ending for now. Mikasa’s fixation towards Eren, who had already turned into a monster after receiving the powers of the Founding Titanled her to question whether it would be worth saving who was her friend for a long time.
However, the fellow scouts were aware that Eren was never going to stop, so they would have to elaborate. a plan to get rid of the Titan that destroyed the lives of the Eldians and enslaved them for their interests. Without a doubt, this was one of the most difficult decisions for them, especially for Mikasa -who deep down believed that she could change-. But it was time to end the painful legacy of Ymir and the Titans.
Once it all ended with the murder of Eren Jaeger and the heartbreaking story of Ymir’s sacrifice for love, fans of the series were discussing the most iconic details of this great adaptation of hajime isayama, while also being satisfied with this tentative conclusion. Meanwhile, there was no shortage of observations about the characters who discovered throughout history that not everything was what it seemed on that walled island.
The truth is that, regardless of this almost ending, the fans claimed to have had a favorite character, as happens with all series, of course. But not only they have it, but also the creator of Shingeki no Kyojin, Hajime Isayama, stated that he had his favorite. Read on to find out.

The fight against Eren Jaeger was one of the key points for Shingeki no Kyojin.
Hajime Isayama talks about the series
Last week the 2022 Anime NYC was held, a convention in which the greatest mangakas are invited to talk about their works and experience with the industry. So Isayama took advantage of the invitation to visit the United States for the first time. In a talk he confessed that he still had doubts about how to carry out the Scout Corps trip, while, to the surprise of many, he explained that he had been inspired by Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad to create his successful series. And, curiously, within one of those revelations comes his current favorite hero and it is very likely that you do not imagine who it is.
Before continuing, it should be specified that a “hero” as such is difficult to find in Shingeki no Kyojin, especially with the events of the last season that transformed Eren Jaeger into the promise of the Explorer Corps to save Paradis. Something that was simply catastrophic. Contrary to what Eren was believed to be as a Founding Titan, he eliminated all of his enemies without any intention of doing good. So with this plot twist, a new version of the Scout Corps was required which added new enemies (including Reiner the Armored Titan and Annie the female Titan).
In this sense, The end of Shingeki no Kyojin is scheduled for 2023 and they’ll make sense of the conclusion to Eren Jaeger’s terror, but that’s not to say that more trouble isn’t on the way for the Survey Corps. So it will be interesting to see how things pan out for the characters next year.
Isayama has his favorite
Returning to the subject that interests us, during the panel of shingeki no kyojin at Anime NYC, Isayama revealed that his current favorite hero is Jean Kirsteinan Eldian soldier who initially only wanted to be a soldier to get a simple job: guarding the royalty of Paradis, but along the way he realized that his skills were much greater than he imagined and would be a perfect fit on the front lines.

Jean Kirstein, from Shingeki no Kyojin.
Of course, Jean hasn’t gotten the power to transform into a Titan yet, but it’s still an important part for characters belonging to the Survey Corps. To better understand, during the formation of the new Exploration Corps, Jean was able to get revenge on Reiner, the Armored Titanwho killed many of his coworkers and innocent civilians while working for Marley.
could be that the future holds a great position for this soldier, because of Isayama’s references and that he plays an important role in the final battle. But we won’t know that until that time comes.
