While waiting for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War in France as well as season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen, the animated series In/Spectre should allow you to wait in the best conditions.

Summary

  • In/Spectrum
  • Jujutsu Kaisen & Bleach Thousand-Year Blood

In/Spectrum

In/Spectre stands out from other manga of the genre by its literary origins. In effect, this work also known as Invented Inference was originally a series of short stories born from the pen of Kyo Shirodaira and illustrated by Hiro Kyohara, then Chasiba Katase. Published from 2011 by Kodansha editions, In/Spectre was adapted 4 years later in manga. First pre-published in Shonen Magazine R and still in progress, this “comic book” version currently has 18 bound volumes.

With sales exceeding two million volumes, the saga catches the eye of Crunchyroll and Viz Media who are quick to set their sights on the work and launch the production of an anime. The companies entrust the production of the animated series to Brain’s Base studios. They have worked in the past on season 4 Golden Kamuy, To Your Eternity and Duel Masters!!. Season 1 of In/Spectre, with 12 episodes, was broadcast between January and March 2020. Season 2 begins on January 9, 2023 on Crunchyroll. Here is the official synopsis of In/Spectre:

As a child, Kotoko was abducted by spirits to become the “Goddess of Wisdom”. These supernatural creatures transformed her into a powerful intermediary between the spirit world and the human world, but this power came at a price: an eye and a leg! One day, she meets Kurô, a young man with a broken heart, who seems to have a strange effect on the spirits: they are terrified at the mere sight of him! – Crunchyroll

Jujutsu Kaisen & Bleach Thousand-Year Blood

The two anime that follow are pillars of Japanese animation, and have aroused the interest of fans since the broadcast of the first episodes, although Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen were born at very different times. The adventures of Ichigo on Japanese TV date back to 2004 before stopping, following a decline in interest in the saga, in 2012… depriving the anime in question of the last narrative arc. Nevertheless, Bleach came back strong in 2022 with Thousand-Year Blood War. Unfortunately, the animated series is still not available in France. Disney+, which has taken over the rights, is playing the watch. As of January 2023, Thousand-Year Blood War is still not legally available in our territory and many others.

On the other side of the chessboard, we find a franchise that it is useless to present as it made noise in 2020 when its animated adaptation was released. Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen was a real tidal wave, just like Demon Slayer was a few years before, and the release of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 feature film in theaters in the spring of 2022 has only added fuel to the fire of passion. Already formalized and still produced by MAPPA studios (Attack on Titan final season), season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be available on Crunchyroll from July 2023.
