We say the above because recently a woman from Shibuya, Tokyo, was arrested by the local police. Your crime? Selling themed cakes of the popular anime without an official license, which represents a violation of the Japanese Copyright Law.

These Demon Slayer Cakes Look Delicious, But They’re Illegal

According Kyodo News (via Kotaku), the 34-year-old woman sold the products through Instagram. Clients contacted her through the social network and later sent the images with which they wanted to decorate their cakes.

According to reports, the prices of the cakes hovered between $ 113.97 USD and $ 131.50 USD, so the suspect managed to earn around $ 56,982 USD from July 2019 to date.

The 34-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday, November 9, on suspicion of violating the Japanese Copyright Law. During questioning, he admitted the charge and confessed that he believed cakes would sell better with popular anime characters and that he knew that was a crime.
