If you enjoyed my previous list wholesome anime recommendations, then you must add the following 3 anime to your watch list as they will undoubtedly bring you solace in these crazy and trying times.
- Kamisama Hajimemashita
What to do when your mother dies of an illness and your father runs away from home because of his debts, leaving you homeless and broke in high school? Accidentally become a god and live in a rent-free shrine – just like our human daughter Nanami. She also has a familiar fox, Tomoe, who has deep abandonment issues and is unwilling to serve a human. However, he is forced to make a contract with Nanami after saving her, to help her with her divine duties. She meets many friends along the way and begins to have unexpected feelings for Tomoe.
Everyone has unbearable obstacles and difficulties in life but there are so many people around us who will love and support us endlessly. I fell in love with this anime because of Nanami’s unwavering determination to make everyone get along, regardless of their differences. She shows that selflessness is not a weakness and that facing the truth is important to help others.
- Spy x Family
The anime follows a cute but dysfunctional family where, to complete her missions, a spy, Twilight, adopts an orphan, Anya, who can read minds. He also needs a wife, so he accidentally meets a beautiful woman, Yor, who is also looking for a fake boyfriend and marries him – despite being an assassin. These two characters are oblivious to the other’s true occupation, but Anya knows everything they’re thinking – including Twilight’s sudden thoughts of taking Anya back to the orphanage because of her incompetent behavior, which makes her totally freaking out and motivates her to do her best. stay in the family.
Twilight wants to create a better future where no child has to be sad by tearing down corrupt politicians and frenzied nationalists. So, he begins to care and love his fake family as if they were real and has frequent anxiety attacks for slightly messing up his assignments. This anime is sure to have you laughing, howling in wholesomeness, and keeping you on the edge of your seat. The unconditional love they have for each other, despite being strangers, will make you excited and joyful.
At first sight ‘Haikyuu!!’ may look like a classic sports anime featuring a group of guys playing volleyball. That’s partly true, but it’s so much more than that! The relationships between the characters are so pure, warm and wholesome. The story is mainly about Hinata – aka a ball of sunshine – who is extremely passionate about volleyball and wants to join the high school team. However, size is key to becoming a great volleyball player – and Hinata misses it badly. Yet he never gives up and his teammates and opponents motivate and train him.
Personally, this anime is the only reason I survived quarantine. When I had nothing to do and started losing the will to wake up, ‘Haikyuu!!’ excited me and motivated me to follow my passions. It gave me hope that things will get better. We can sometimes lose in life, but that doesn’t negate all the positive experiences we’ve had before. We must always move forward and not give up. We will definitely all end up winning.
