Haikyuu has been one of the most popular sports anime released in recent years, featuring the story of Shoyo Hinata and his passion for volleyball nets, and with the series celebrating its tenth anniversary, many projects are in the works. creation to bring fans back to the journey spawned from the mind of Haruichi Furudate. Now, a new manga special is in the works and is set to arrive in Japan later this month, focusing on the past life if none other than the “Scheming Captain” himself, Tetsuro Kuroo.
By helping to celebrate this great year for Haikyuu, the anime franchise has already confirmed a number of new projects the series has in the works to help kick off its anniversary celebration. While this special new manga is meant to explore the life of Kuroo, there is also another manga project from creator Furudate which is set to focus on the life of the main volleyball team led by Shoyo, after the conclusion of the manga which was not has yet to be fully adapted into the anime series. The anime itself received four seasons, spanning over eighty episodes, though fans have wondered if the franchise might be able to announce a return as part of the many special events planned for 2022.
