Naruto and Hello Kitty collaborate for their anniversary

In order to celebrate the popular anime’s 20th anniversary “Naruto”, sanrio will release two figurines alluding to the characters of the saga. On the one hand we will have your favorite pet Hello Kittycosplaying the future Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uchiha, while Chococat, another Sanrio character, will portray his best friend and eternal rival, Sasuke Uchiga.

Both figures pose while recreating each character’s special attack: Hello Kitty performs Naruto’s classic Rasengan, while Chococat performs Sasuke’s attack, the Chidori. Both figures are now available for pre-order on the Kid Robot Collector’s Maker page for $94.99 each. The pair is estimated to start shipping to buyers around the end of 2022.

While this combination of franchises seems a little odd, Naruto and Hello Kitty have collaborated several times over the past few years, releasing a variety of merchandise, from t-shirts and sweaters to Funko Pop!

In addition, Sanrio is well into the world of anime culture, since the house of Hello Kitty is also preparing a collaboration with the anime and manga of “Sailor Moon”, producing merchandise that combines the Sailor Scouts with the company’s own line of mascots. The new collab is being released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the original anime series’ premiere.

“Naruto”, created by Masashi Kishimotocelebrates its big 20th anniversary in 2022, as the original anime adaptation was released in 2002. With that, the creator announced that he already has various plans to celebrate this big date so far this year.

The manga “Naruto” was launched in 1999, being one of the biggest successes of Weekly Shōnen Jump during the anime boom of the early 2000s. The series is the fourth best-selling manga of all time, with over a quarter of a billion copies in circulation.
