When is Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Release Date?
The Star Wars Visions Season 2 release date is set for May 4, 2023. It must be said that season 1 was very well received (96% on Rotten Tomato, 79/100 on Metacritic). On the fan side, opinions are divided. Some praise how the spin-off offers a new perspective on the world of Star Wars, with varied stories and a different graphic style with each installment. Others regret that the quality of the animation of the episodes is not accompanied by scenarios and stakes at its height.
Where to see Star Wars: Visions Season 2 in France?
Star Wars: Visions Season 2 will be available on the Disney+ streaming platform. The series is part of the wave of projects announced during Star Wars Celebration 2023. In order to breathe new life into the universe of the saga, these new titles intend to explore every aspect of space-opera. Thus, we were treated to the announcement of The Acolyte, which deals with the rivalry between the Jedi and the Siths during the High Republic; that of Ahsoka, which intends to highlight the eponymous character as well as characters from Star Wars Rebels; or even Skeleton Crew with its group of orphans in search of their home planet.
What is the story of Star Wars: Visions Season 2?
What sets Star Wars: Visions apart is the stories it tells. Each episode is unique, both by the animation and the scenario. The first season allowed us to discover adventures like that of Ronin (episode 1), in a Star Wars style samurai, or the story of the Jedi Tsubaki (episode 9) whose story echoes a certain Anakin Skywalker.

The stories in Visions Season 2 are not canon to the Star Wars saga. So, if you were expecting to discover new elements of the lore of the work, it is not with this series that you will be able to satisfy your desire. Nevertheless, this series is a good way to discover the universe in a new light, like Batman Ninja for example, which featured the bat man in an animated film in the heart of feudal Japan.
Who are the creatives behind Star Wars: Visions Season 2?
At the head of the project, we have Kathleen Kennedy (producer and president of Lucasfilm) with by her side James Waugh And Josh Rimes (executive producers).

On the side of the various Japanese animation studios mobilized, we find the studios that had accompanied us during the first season:
- GI production (Kuroko no Basket, Haikyuu!!)

- trigger (Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Kill La Kill)
- GenoStudio (Golden Kamuy, Bucchigire!)

- To pay tribute to the fact that the two seasons of Star Wars: Visions are mainly produced in Japan, the dubbing actors selected are all of Asian or even Japanese origin, which creates a strong bond between them. Among this group of voice actors, we can find familiar voices, such as Simu Liu (Shang-Chi in the MCU) or Lucy Liu (notably known for her role as O-Ren Ishii in Kill Bill: Volume 1).
