5 animes to watch urgently!

Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, One Piece, Naruto, SNK, for many the small world of anime is limited to these names. The truth is however quite different and there are thus hundreds and hundreds of productions on the sector. Products which are often less well known, but which also deserve your attention.

And indeed, if you have the impression of going in circles, here are no less than 5 animes to discover urgently.

Crunchyroll credits

This list is of course not fully exhaustive. It focuses mainly on the productions that have marked me the most lately and I invite you of course to complete it with your own suggestions, if only so that I can fill my library.

My Hero Academia

I know, I’m breaking open doors. My Hero Academia is not just an anime lost in a multitude of anime. It is a real monument in itself. It is indeed one of the most popular productions of the moment and this is not surprising.

The story takes place in an alternate present and as part of the population is given superpowers, called Alters. Deku, on the other hand, has always had a passion for superheroes, but he is one of the few people who has not developed powers.

At least until his path crosses that of All Might, the number 1 superhero. All Might who will give him his Quirk… a Quirk of a rather peculiar kind and which will change everything.

And all this works pretty well, I would even say very well. The story is truly captivating and we are quickly caught up in it. As for the realization, it is simply crazy, and that goes as much for the drawing as for the animations.

My Hero Academia is available on DNA.

Fire Force

This anime is arguably a little less well known, but it also deserves your attention.

This time again, the story takes place in an alternate present and as humanity is faced with a strange phenomenon of spontaneous combustion. Combustions which can occur at any time and which sometimes tend to transform those who are struck by it into demons.

The action follows the adventures of the Fire Force, a special brigade set up to combat these phenomena. And more precisely that of Shinra, a new recruit of the third generation who possesses extremely powerful powers and who is perceived as a Demon.

A Demon who dreams of only one thing: to become a hero.

The first season of Fire Force awaits you at DNA.

Jujutsu Kaisen

You’ll laugh, but Jujutsu Kaisen is one of my most recent favorites. I had indeed completely missed this incredible nugget.

Again, the anime takes place in an alternate present. And more precisely in a world where the negative emotions of humans give life to plagues. Plagues that can only be contained with more powerful plagues and placed in key places like hospitals or even schools.

Yuji Itadori, a high school student with a knack for fighting, will have the bad idea of taking one of these protective plagues and giving it to his fellow esoteric enthusiasts. Comrades who will remove the seal and at the same time reveal a relic belonging to an ancient extremely dangerous scourge: Ryomen Sukuna.

An exorcist will then intervene to try to contain it, in vain. Cornered, Itadori will be forced to eat the relic and thus become the receptacle of the worst plague the Earth has ever carried.

If you want to see Jujutsu Kaisen, you can go to Crunhcyroll.

Tokyo Revengers

Another anime discovered late, but still to my great regret.

Tokyo Revengers is set in 2017 and when Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his former girlfriend has been killed in a conflict involving a local gang.

The very next day, when he comes back from his work, he is pushed in front of a train and… wakes up twelve years earlier, at the time when he was going out with the chosen one of his heart. He will then do everything to save her and prevent her from knowing her tragic fate.

We must admit that the plot works quite well. We easily get into the story and we quickly develop an affection for the main characters.

Tokyo Revengers is available on Crunchyroll.

The Promised Neverland

I’m cheating a bit because I told you about this anime before, but it also deserves to be on this list.

The Promised Neverland takes place at Grace Field House, an orphanage lost in the middle of the forest and run by Mum, a loving and caring woman.

Emma, Norman and Ray, three gifted children, have happy days there, but one fine morning they discover that the orphanage in which they grew up is in reality… a breeding farm. And that orphans are nothing but cattle. They will then do everything to escape.

The Promised Neverland is available on DNA.
