Finally a resumption date for part 2 of Chainsaw Man

It’s been quite a while since fans of the manga chain saw man were totally weaned from new chapters. We can say that since his break in 2020, the expectation around the work of mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto was starting to be felt.

Although it took two years to wait, the machine will soon be relaunched and it may be sooner than you imagine.

The countdown begins

After a first part that left readers speechless, Chainsaw Man went into hibernation for a period of two years. But for fans, it feels like an eternity. While the anime’s debut is slated for this year, fans will be glad to hear that’s not the only surprise the franchise has in store.

As you may know, Fujimoto has not been idle during his manga hiatus. The mangaka worked hard on the rest of his work and even found the time to produce a one-shot titled Goodbye Eri. But now it’s time to get back to the heart of the matter with its flagship title.

And following this momentum, Shonen Jump decided to please readers with the announcement of Chainsaw Man’s return date. Denji alias “chainsaw man” will return on July 13 on the Shonen Jump+ digital platform.

Franchise news

As you can most certainly imagine, this is unexpected news for impatient fans. Fortunately, their patience will soon be rewarded with chapter releases every week. So there’s plenty to be excited about with only a month left to wait. Moreover, Fujimoto has not finished delighting his fans, as the mangaka also plans to release a brand new one-shot.

And when we remember the success of the two previous one-shots Look back and Goodbye Eri, we can expect something of the same caliber. At the same time, the franchise is preparing, under the banner of the Mappa studio, for its entry into the world of Japanese animation. Apart from being one of the most popular manga of recent years, its anime adaptation is also a real eye-catcher.

And with so much spotlight on the franchise, it’s safe to say that this is most definitely one of the most anticipated releases of the year. If you haven’t read all 11 volumes of Chainsaw Man yet, maybe it’s time to catch up on the backlog before it resumes on July 13. For those interested, the French version is available at Kazé. As for the digital versions, they are published on Manga Plus and Viz Media.

The Chainsaw Man anime

As of now, no official release date has been given for the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man. The only certainty around its release is that it is scheduled for the year 2022. Apart from this detail, there is still other useful information that has been communicated.

It should be noted that the Chainsaw Man anime will be broadcast as soon as it is released on the Crunchyroll streaming platform. And as for the production team, we already know that Ryu Nakayama will be the director. Apart from the director, it was also revealed that Hiroshi Seko and Kensuke Ushio are respectively the screenwriter and the composer.

As for the choice of the production studio, it is not a scoop since the name of Mappa had already been known for a long time now. This production studio has continued to gain ground year after year. This is partly due to the resounding success of the adaptations of Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan.
