first synopsis of season 2 revealed!

With the feature film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 following the end of the anime’s highly successful first season, fans were eager to see the series return to manga for the continuation of the story. Thankfully, the second season is going to touch on a lot of the next major phases of Gege Akutami’s manga.

What can we expect with this season 2?

Jujutsu Kaisen is currently scheduled for next year. It is confirmed that the series will pick up the “Gojo’s past” arc (which is split into three smaller sub-arcs) and the “Shibuya incident” arc from the original manga. The series’ official website has given a glimpse of what to expect with the first official synopsis. It should be composed like this:

“Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, scheduled to air in 2023, will depict the story of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto’s days as students of Jujutsu Tech in the ‘Hidden Inventory, premature death’ arcs.” The story of the separation between Gojo and Geto, which had been mentioned in the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, will finally be revealed. Additionally, “Shibuya Incident,” an arc that continues directly from Season 1, will follow “Hidden Inventory, Premature Death” in two consecutive courses.

But the real juicy teaser comes from the description of the “Shibuya Incident” arc:

On October 31, a curtain suddenly falls around Shibuya Station, an area teeming with people celebrating Halloween, and massive numbers of civilians find themselves trapped. Gojo ventures alone into Shibuya, but it’s a trap set by Geto, Mahito and other cursed spirits… [Yuji] Itadori, [Megumi] Fushiguro, [Nobara] Kugisaki, and the students and wizards of Jujutsu Tech gather in Shibuya, an unprecedented and large-scale battle is about to unfold. A spectacular story revolving around curses begins to spin once more.
