Henry Cavill explains the hobby behind Warhammer 40k

Whether via social media or in most of his interviews, actor Henry Cavill has shown that he has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the various hobbies and franchises of geek culture, especially when it comes to “The Witcher ”, the Netflix series which is about to present its second season.

During a recent participation in the Graham Norton program, the presenter pointed out that due to his great love for video games and Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, he was surely the person with the greatest knowledge in the world of Geralt de Rivia, something Cavill tried to avoid in a modest way.

During this segment of the show, Cavill took a moment to explain his penchant for the strategy role-playing game “Warhammer 40k”, explaining the difference between it and World of Warcraft, which was mentioned by the presenter. when asked about the numbers the actor showed on social media.

“You have to paint them. It depends on how much effort you put into it. There’s the painting and modeling side of the hobby and there’s the playing side of the hobby, ”Cavill explained. When Norton asks what happens after painting the characters, the actor clarifies, “Then they join them in small armies and fight against someone else’s army. ”

Cavill’s response makes audiences laugh, a natural response for those unfamiliar with the hobby. Cavill would take it lightly and say that, as ridiculous as it sounds, it was kind of funny. Tom Holland, who was the show’s guest, pointed out at the time that it sounded fun, asking Cavill if they could ever play it together. A moment that caught the attention of both fans on the internet.

The mythology of “Warhammer 40k” dates back to approximately the 41st century, when humanity established an empire across the galaxy, facing all kinds of beings and races from different mythologies. The public nature of Cavill’s hobby caused the “Total War: Warhammer 2” video game to include a character based on him.
