And the anime?:
The anime is of course on hiatus, as the manga doesn’t have enough head start to adapt a full season without the anime resuming a long hiatus as well. But…! A promotional video for the anime featuring Gon and Kilua will be uploaded on October 28
He created a new account in May to show off the work he is doing on the new chapters of hunter x hunter manga.
Since the end of the animated series Hunter x Hunter (2011) which stopped at episode 148, the Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Japan and the manga break since 2018, one could say that Togashi’s manga is “dead”.
Indeed the last time a chapter was published was in the Weekly Shōnen Jump N°1 (2019) released on November 26, 2018 for its Chapter 390. Since Hunter x Hunter is on hiatus.
“I need to finish writing Hunter x Hunter” said Togashi in the interview. “We got to a point where it’s either the story ends first or I die before it happens (Laughs). But I intend to finish it.” Explain Yoshihiro Togashi.
Togashi explains that the story can be said to have ended when Gon finds Ging, and some readers probably think that’s how it was supposed to end. I agree that I wrote the story this way but in fact I did not intend to conclude it at this moment.
But Hunter x Hunter as it is now has a lot of elements that make me want to keep reading, even from my perspective.
“And from my perspective as a writer, there’s a lot of stuff that’s yet to be written, that makes writing fun. And all I can hope for is that at least someone wants to enjoy this adventure with me.”
In France the manga is published by Kana. His second anime Hunter x Hunter (2011) stopped at episode 148, the Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Japan.
It has also inspired two films and several video games.
