JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 Anime Film’s Japanese Blu-ray And DVD Makes Record Debut In Weekly Sales

The popular Blu-ray and DVD JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 The anime film was released in Japan last week, bringing Yuta and Rika’s story to homes across the country. Japanese sales tracking site Oricon reported today that the film broke the sales record for its first week in 2022 in all its categories, surpassing the sales of my hero academia and GIRLS and PANZER.

Starting with the DVD, the regular edition of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 sold 30,000 copies in its first week, with the deluxe edition selling 28,000 copies. Both releases came in first and second respectively on the overall weekly DVD chart, as well as the anime DVD charts. It also exceeds the My Hero Academia World Heroes Mission DVD Plus Ultra Edition as the top-selling anime DVD of 2022 in its first week of release.

On the Blu-ray charts, the deluxe edition of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 sold 65,000 copies in its first week of release while the regular edition of the film sold 27,000 copies. The two ranked one and two respectively in the overall weekly Blu-ray rankings. The deluxe edition has the honor of exceeding GIRLS and PANZER Das Finale Episode 3 (Special Edition) in first-week sales of 41,000 copies.

The JUJUTSU KAISEN the anime will be back in 2023 after the prequel movie of the series JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 brought more than 24.25 billion yen (about $180 million) worldwide. Crunchyroll is streaming both the first season of the MAPPA-produced anime and the anime movie. Crunchyroll describes the series as such:
