Jujutsu Kaisen 0: what does the post-credits scene of the film contain?

Three months after Japan, the long-awaited film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 finally lands in French cinemas. Born from the success of the series released at the end of 2020, this cinematographic project adds some elements of answers to the anime with the arrival of a brand new protagonist.

And yet, despite the film’s prequel status, a post-credits scene suggests that Yuta Okkotsu’s character could well continue to be talked about and perhaps even appear in season 2, which we hope will air for current. 2023.

Yuta Okkotsu, hero in the cinema but unknown on the small screen? Not quite. If the most seasoned readers and fans of the manga have already noticed it, it is possible that the only spectators of the series missed this information: you already knew Yuta before discovering the film.

Indeed, even if he does not interact with anyone during season 1, we can hear different characters mentioning him. The first to mention his name is Panda on the occasion of episode 5. During a meeting between the first and second classes, he points out to Maki that she is always much more relaxed when Yuta found around. The second that follows, the character of Megumi Fushiguro explains these remarks by specifying that Yuta is a student currently absent because he has gone abroad.

In addition to this brief mention, he can be seen appearing on screen during the following episode. As Saturo Gojo announces his ambitions as a teacher to the deputy headmaster of the school, he takes the opportunity to praise two students in particular: Hakari and Yuta.

Although he has a slightly different physique from the one he wears in the film, it’s impossible to be wrong: it is indeed the same Yuta. A first-class exorcist whom Gojo describes as being able to surpass him, proof of all his power.

These are the only times we can hear about this mysterious boy in the anime. However, his presence seems to hover throughout season 1 since we can also see him in the second opening of season 1, in the company of a dark-skinned stranger wearing a white beret.

After watching the film, it’s hard not to recognize him: it’s Miguel, one of the antagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. anime only can therefore conclude that Yuta and this former servant of Suguru Geto decided to ally themselves for reasons still unknown.

A fact confirmed in the film by a short post-credits scene in which we find Yuta and Miguel on the terrace of a presumably European café. As they talk quietly, a familiar figure comes to interrupt them: Gojo Satoru. Coming straight from Japan, it is assumed that the exorcist professor has come to beg Yuta’s help. Having been possessed by a plague himself, he seems to be in the best position to understand what Yuji is going through with Sukuna.

All this different information suggests that the character of Yuta will take on great importance in the sequel to the anime. One more reason not to miss Jujutsu Kaisen 0 while it’s in theaters, before the arrival of season 2!
