Many series have aroused our curiosity in recent months. But one of them more than the others. In effect, Jujutsu Kaisen knew how to make people talk about it and for good reason, this series is a marvel!
Jujutsu Kaisen is at the base, a manga by Akutami Gege, published in France by Ki-oon. The series currently has 21 volumes (in progress) in Japan and 17 volumes in France. Volume 18 will be available from January 05, 2023.
Jujutsu Kaisen immerses you in the daily life of Yuji Itadori, a high school student who is part of the spiritism club. Although he doesn’t particularly believe in ghosts, Yuji remains a valuable asset to the club thanks to his incredible physical strength. However, one day, everything changes… Indeed, our high school students will come across a relic, a finger… But not just any finger, it’s a severed finger belonging to an ancient creature… which attracts monsters! To escape trouble, Yuji Itadori sees only one way out, swallow this finger!
Our high school student therefore finds himself possessed by Ryomen Sukuna, a demon with two faces. However, Yuji is not as weak as the demon might have imagined and he manages to regain possession of his body. But not everything is so simple in the world of exorcism… Sentenced to death by this organization, Yuji will have only one alternative to escape his sentence, find and swallow all of Sukuna’s fingers in order to kill him. eliminate for good. To get there, Yuji will have to join a school of exorcism… So here he is in a most dangerous world, that of exorcism!
Following its success, an anime version was born, for our greatest pleasure. Airing from October 02, 2020 to March 26, 2021, the anime has 24 episodes, which you can watch on wakanim and Crunchyroll.
A film depicting events prior to Yuji’s arrival was also released, Gekijouban Jujutsu Kaisen 0/Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0. The latter was shown in many cinemas at the beginning of the year. It adapts volume 0 of the manga.
We follow Yuta okkotsu, a young man haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend Rika. The latter died in a road accident when they were children. However, Rika is no longer an innocent little girl… indeed, she manifests as a monster that protects him against his will. After several accidents following this forced protection, Yuta is cared for by Satoru Gojo, a professor at the Tokyo School of Exorcism. The latter convinced him to join the school in order to master his occult energy.
Can he learn enough in time to face the curse that haunts him?
Following this broadcast, season 2 of the anime has been officially announced! After several months of waiting, we learned about the official twitter of the series that the second season would be broadcast next summer, in July 2023 more precisely. Moreover, we also know that this second season, having approximately 24 episodes, will be broken down into two narrative arcs narrating the Satoru’s Past and the Shibuya Drama.
This second season is directly linked to the first. Following the events of the tournament, Yûji, Megumi and Nobara receive the order to flush out the traitor present within the community of exorcists.
