After an excellent S1, the anime Jujutsu Kaisen will return for a Season 2. In this article, you will find all the information available on the continuation of the adventures of Sukuna and her host. A first animated film has been announced, which will link the first and the second season.
Date de sortie de Jujutsu Kaisen Saison 2
Unfortunately, if you’re as impatient as we are, the sequel shouldn’t arrive in the next few weeks. It’s simple, no release date has been announced for season 2. In fact, we know that there will be a sequel with the mention “To be continued”At the end of the last episode of S1. We hope that it will once again be the Mappa studio in charge, given the rather impressive quality of the first 24 episodes.
Anyway, the arrival of an S2 is not in doubt for Jujutsu Kaisen. We even expect it for next year (2022), without further details. Remember that a film is in production. Thus, a few months after the broadcast in Japanese cinemas of the latter, we should discover the first episode of the second season.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s S1 was released from October 2020 in Japan and France. In total, it is composed of 24 episodes of very good quality, which enchanted the whole world with a polished animation, breathtaking action, a beautiful story and twists of all kinds. The main and secondary characters are endearing and the whole has real depth.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 will be as long as the first. There are still many chapters of the manga to adapt. Indeed, at the time of this writing, 161 manga chapters have been released, and the first season has only covered the first 64. No need to do something special or to deviate from the scenario trajectory therefore.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0: a film to be patient
If Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen has not yet been announced, we learned after episode 24 that a film was in production. Very soberly titled “Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie”, it is scheduled for winter 2021 in Japanese theaters. We hope that it will be quickly released in France, whether in cinemas, or at least in simulcast.
In any case, this animated film will land at the end of the year and will adapt chapter 0 of the eponymous manga. It will therefore be an opportunity to address events prior to those taking place in the 24 episodes, and especially to introduce the high school student Yuta Okkotsu. We will also find Gojo and some well-known characters. If you haven’t read Chapter Zero yet, it is simply outstanding, and therefore more than deserves its animated film.
In addition, it will be the opportunity to enjoy the animation and the production quality of the studio for more than 1h30, which has the gift of exciting us. You can find the two trailers below.
What to expect in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2?
After a first batch of 24 very complete episodes, we are all immersed in some uncertainty with the events of this anime. Indeed, the danger of demons is still not remote, and doubt still hangs over some protagonists. We know in particular that Gojo, one of the most popular characters in the manga, is under serious threat. The whole operation of the villains is to put him out of harm’s way, which could happen … Like All Might in My Hero Academia.
Likewise, the end of the first season tells us that several exorcists will benefit from an upgrade. This means that they will receive more salaries, have more responsibilities, but above all obtain more perilous missions. Having fought many “S-Class” battles, we can expect such epic battles to still play out in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Without too much spoiler, Season 2 will have to adapt 15 chapters of the manga which are flashbacks. These relate to Gojo. We do not yet know if these will be directly included in the film which will focus on chapter 0 (why not) or if the S2 will adapt the chapters of the manga as is. In any case, we can expect the 2nd season to have the same number of chapters as the first, ie around 70. If we combine the arc of the Shibuya incident with Gojo’s flashback chapters, we come across 73 chapters.
As you will understand, there is still material to create a season 2 of 24 episodes. And even a 3rd season, as things stand!
