Jujutsu Kaisen: the first season of the anime phenomenon overflows with Plagues on DVD and Blu-ray

Curses, exorcisms, overpowered demons and severed fingers: when the Mappa studio adapts Jujutsu Kaisen, great success of the Japanese dark fantasy, it is Kazé which delights on the occasion of its release on DVD and Blu-Ray.

It is not good to be inhabited by evil joys. Whatever their origin, the negative emotions that grow in the hearts of men sometimes threaten to overwhelm them. They then turn into Plagues. It is this dark phenomenon that is the cause of hundreds of unexplained deaths in Japan each year. Yuji Itadori may not be entirely ignorant on the issue, but he is only really confronted with it the day when one of his friends suffers the onslaught of a Scourge before his eyes.

Dog of life

To save his comrade from the Two-Faced Demon, one of the most powerful there is, he ingests one of his fingers. An act with heavy consequences, since he now shares his body with the entity, and will have to devour its ten fingers to manage to escape its grip. A challenge in itself, further complicated by the hostility of his exorcist friends, who are now turning their backs on him.

With its darkness, its intensity, its close relationship between occultism and graphic representations of rituals that are messy to say the least, combined with a particularly effective sense of action, Jujutsu Kaisen blasted the codes of traditional Shonen when published in Japan. After international recognition that accompanied the manga through its publications around the world, it was its adaptation animated by the Mappa studio that enjoyed instant success, especially when it was broadcast in streaming on the Crunchyroll platform.

Jujutsu Kaisen: PictureA beautiful object

But credit should be given to any tapper, this spectacular and dark quest had to a setting worthy of its inaugural season. It’s done since July 5, Kazé editions offer the series in DVD and Blu-Ray box sets. The latter will contain some pleasant surprises, since it will take the form of a rigid Digipack, in which, in addition to the 24 episodes in VO and VOSTFR, 8 exclusive cards await fans.

An object that should quench their demonic thirst after the release last March of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a feature film derived from the original series, which had brought together no less than 500,000 spectators in dark rooms.. Suffice to say that fans of the franchise really need this edition, available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
