Jujutsu Kaisen is THE dark fantasy manga of the moment. While it highlights a world in which the esoteric has its place, there are many ways for the characters to die, whether it’s Satoru Gojo’s Power of Infinity or Mahito’s Absolute Alteration. Here is the TOP 10 of the worst possible Jujutsu Kaisen deaths.

Warning, this article contains spoilers that have not yet been produced in the animated version of Jujutsu Kaisenpublished in France by Ki-oon.

It’s no surprise to any fan of Jujutsu Kaisen. There are a number of horrible ways to die, whether in the anime or the manga. The characters may as well be cut into a thousand pieces by Ryomen Sukuna, like becoming a plague themselves. And Gege Akutami, the mangaka behind Jujutsu Kaisenn / A no mercy for his charactersnot hesitating to make them live a particularly abominable death.

Facing the plagues, using supernatural skills by calling on occult energy, these are the ingredients that make Jujutsu Kaisen meets with such success. Add to this combination a hierarchy of cruel and corrupt exorcists, overpowered characters on both sides, a few objects and cursed people and you have a title where horror and darkness come together. But have you ever wondered what could be the worst way to die in Jujutsu Kaisen ?

10 – Being turned into a plague: A second life after death

In the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen, characters can become plagues. This does not imply death in the literal sense of the word. Indeed, the plagues see the see following an accumulation of occult energy, which stems from negative feelings. We can therefore consider that a plague, having emerged after the death of a person, is a residue of the essence of the latter materialized in a more or less hideous and powerful form. To become a plague is therefore, in a way, a death sentence after physical death since the scourge will be hunted down and killed by exorcists.

Let’s face it, being a nuisance is not what you expect from a pleasant existence. The body and the spirit are totally deformed. Additionally, the plague is usually tied to a place (school, hospital, church, etc.) that it cannot leave, and it is often on the lookout for things that it can kill and devour. We think about it well, we understand better why the exorcists strive to make them disappear.

9 – To be the bearer of a finger of Sukuna: To have a target in the back

Some flails can be used as bearer of a finger of Sukuna. And while absorbing such a relic can greatly enhance the abilities of the bearer flail, this gift is actually a double-edged sword.

Indeed, being the bearer of a finger of Sukuna transforms the plague concerned into a priority target, and not only for exorcists. And yes, not only will the exorcists seek to recover the finger and thus kill the scourge, but other much more powerful scourges will also seek to seize the power of the relic. Without speaking about Sukuna himself who seeks to regain his full dispositions. Clearly, being the bearer of a Sukuna finger is a false good idea that could precipitate anyone towards an unheard of violent death.

8 – Being possessed like Geto is

Anyone who follows the manga Jujutsu Kaisen knows the relationship between Gojo Satoru and Suguru Geto, as well as the latter’s level as an exorcist. However, Geto was not powerful enough to survive the Power of Infinity that his best friend used to stop him. After being killed, Geto’s body was recovered and possessed by an unknown forcethus creating the illusion that Geto was still alive and well.

Although possession was not Geto’s cause, it is an element of his story that makes his ultimate fate tragic. If in the universe of Jujutsu Kaisenthe essence of a deceased person remains, or even can witness events on Earth, this fate would probably disgust many of the characters who were also possessed.

7 – Be transformed into furniture by Juzo

Juzo was a plague who made a lightning passage in the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen. Despite his short presence, he brought to the series a dark, even creepy, interesting side to the series. Indeed, his character has a morbid passion for making furniture from human parts. And he doesn’t limit himself to bones, he reuses everything he can.

In and of itself, being killed by Juzo would be sad enough. But if it ends up as a hanger or a coat rack, it would be even worse. Juzo is known to have no respect for the dead. And dying by his hand would ultimately be an unenviable death.

6 – Sukuna decides to rip your heart out

If there’s one thing you can’t blame Sukuna for, it’s running out of ideas. Indeed, the guy, king of plagues, is never short of options to test a new death on those who bother him a little too much. He may very well decide to implode you like ripping your heart out of your chest with just one quick movement.. And while the two deaths are particularly harrowing, the second remains the most painful.

It is not our dear Yuji Itadori who will say the opposite. The poor boy was indeed the victim of Sukuna who did not hesitate to rip his heart out of his chest. The scene is all the more morbid as Yuji will remain conscious for a few milliseconds before taking what is thought to be, at that moment, his last breath.. Sukuna is still a particularly mysterious character in the universe Jujutsu Kaisen and it wouldn’t be surprising if his killing techniques became more and more violent.

5 – Become the snack of a plague

Unfortunately, the plagues don’t just devour each other. Some do not hesitate to hunt and devour living humans. Yuji’s former comrades have also almost served as a snack for the plagues that have appeared. Although in shock, the majority of the victims are unconscious at the time of the attack of the plagues, the pain of being eaten alive can quickly wake them upthus making them live a real hell.

Additionally, many plagues are particularly slow to kill their victims. One thinks, for example, of Yuta’s first intervention, in Jujutsu Kaison 0. The young man, accompanied by Maki, must save missing boys. He will find the two children in the stomach of a plague that will have cursed them, condemning them to a slow and painful death. But even if the victims of plagues are saved, they do not come out unscathed. The psychological trauma, but also physical, is particularly great.

4 – Serve as a guinea pig for Mahito and his Absolute Alteration

Some of the most gruesome deaths in Jujutsu Kaisen are due to a single character: Mahito. The latter is a particularly sadistic and immature young scourge who likes to play with the different human emotions. Nevertheless, the latter is endowed with an innate spell called Absolute Alteration. This ability gives him the power to reshape souls as it pleases, and thus to disfigure his victims, but also to heal his own wounds, to transform certain parts of his body into a weapon, etc. It is in chapter 16 of the manga and episode 7 of the anime that fans will meet for the first time Mahito who, on this occasion, will kill three teenagers in a cinema.

When Mahito turned young Junpei Yoshino into one of his mutant plagues, fans then realized the extent of the horrors Mahito could unleash. All the plagues created by this character, and which survived, became hungry creatures who live in constant suffering, begging to be given death.

3 – Falling prey to a finger carrier

In the first arc of Jujutsu Kaisenentitled Birth of the Matrixreaders and viewers quickly understood what Satoru Gojo was talking about when he said that exorcists were brought to see horrific scenes throughout their lives. Indeed, in the detention center where they are sent, Yuji, Nobara and Megumi discover the mutilated and deformed bodies of two inmates. The men had apparently died in excruciating pain.

Moments later, Yuji’s hand was ripped off as he attempted to sever Sukuna’s finger-carrying flail. And as the young exorcist tried to retaliate against the attack, his fingers were simply burned. This scene proves to us that Sukuna’s finger-wielding plagues enjoy far greater power than in the early years. and that they can represent particularly dangerous enemies.

2 – Being burned alive by Jogo

There are few deaths that are as slow and painful as being burned alive. Yet this is what happened to a group of restaurant workers, as well as to some exorcists in Jujutsu Kaisen. When the exorcists discovered that Geto had partners, they sought to assess their strength. And Jogo, one of the scourge alongside Geto, appeared as a weak scourge due to losing to Gojo.

Nevertheless, the character turned out to be much more powerful than we thought. Indeed, several characters from the universe of Jujutsu Kaisen were surprised, and very often burned alive, by the attacks using the fire of Jogo, as well as its extension of the territory.

1 – Fall victim to Satoru Gojo’s Infinity Power

Satoru Gojo is without a doubt one of the favorite characters, if not THE favorite character, of fans of Jujutsu Kaisen. But beyond his massive popularity, the Exorcist is also one of the most powerful characters in the series, even boasting of being able to beat Ryomen Sukuna. It’s not for nothing that Gojo is so confident. Indeed, his innate technique, entitled Power of Infinityis one of the most powerful techniques of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jogo was also trapped in the extension of the territory of Gojo, Infinity Space Sphere. The scourge has also pointed out that he felt everything, saw everything, which made him completely unable to react. A psychologically particularly atrocious death.
