Jujutsu Kaisen Was Japan’s Best-Selling Manga Series This Year – Kudasai

The Japanese portal Oricon revealed the five manga franchises with the most cumulative copies sold during the period from November 23, 2020 to November 21, 2021, with Jujutsu Kaisen taking the first position. This is the usual annual list of the platform, where the most successful franchises so far are reviewed.

Before listing, it should be noted that in the mentioned period there was no new compilation volume for the main line of the manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, Kimetsu no Yaibabut just illustration book releases and spin-off projects from the franchise. So the fact that Kimetsu no Yaiba has occupied the second position is definitely considered a greater success than the series that achieved the first, especially because of the little difference between one and the other.

Sinopsis de Jujutsu Kaisen

High school student Yuuji Itadori, who idly indulges in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, spends his days in the clubroom or hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the bizarre when he unknowingly comes across a cursed object. Unleashing a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses, terrible beings formed by human malice and negativity, after swallowing said item, which is revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the ” King of Curses ”. Yuuji experiences firsthand the threat these curses pose to society when he discovers his own newly acquired powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Technical College of Magic, he begins to walk a path from which he cannot return: the path of a Jujutsu wizard.
