In parallel with EVO 2022, the biggest event dedicated to fighting games, was held the Crunchyroll Expo. This was an opportunity for the firm to present its catalog for the fall and winter seasons, but also to announce several projects and/or sequels. Here’s a summary of the announcements you shouldn’t miss during Crunchyroll Expo 2022.

It was during the MAPPA studios panel organized on Friday August 5 that the new trailer for the long-awaited animated series Chainsaw Man was broadcast. On the program of demons, dantesque fights and a total absence of censorship according to the first images presented by the Japanese studios, which corroborates their statements. They also confirmed that the broadcast of the anime will start in the month of October 2022 as we assumed. Finally, several Seiyū, the name given to voice actors and actresses in Japan, have been revealed. We find in the cast Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa) and finally Fairouz Ai (Power).

Kaiju No.8

One of the manga phenomena of 2022 will have the right to its animated adaptation. Indeed, Crunchyroll announced ahead of its exhibition that Kaiju No. 8 will have the honors of an animated series produced by Toho Animation. The work written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto, and serialized in Shonen Jump+ since July 2022, is a real hit in Japan, but also in France. As a reminder, the release of the first volume on our territory had been the subject of an unprecedented marketing campaign thanks in particular to a huge visual displayed on the National Library of France. We only know a few things about the animated series which still remains very mysterious. Crunchyroll promises us more information in the coming months. It will therefore be necessary to be patient. Here is the synopsis:

Kafka hopes one day to keep the pact made with his childhood friend Mina and thus join the Japanese Defense Forces to fight alongside her. Mob Psycho 100 III

Mob Psycho 100 is back for a season 3 that promises its share of wacky and epic moments of which only the author ONE (One-Punch Man) has the secret. The continuation of the animated adventures of Kageyama Shigeo aka Mob is placed under the direction of Yuzuru Tachikawa, already in charge of the first two seasons. The same goes for all the staff, but also the cast who resume their respective roles. During the Crunchyroll Expo, the first episode of season 3 was screenedthen the opening made available to fans on YouTube. Mob Psycho 100 III will debut on Japanese TV and on Crunchyroll on October 5, 2022.

My Hero Academia – Season 6

At the beginning of 2022, superhero fans were able to discover in dark rooms the new adventures of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates in the feature film My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission, a spin-off which intersects in the main frame between season 5 and the one to come. BONES studios have thus revealed a brand new Plus Ultra trailer for season 6 of My Hero Academia as well as an official visual which confirms the starting point of this batch of episodes. The war between our heroes and the Paranormal Liberation Front will break out during the month of October 2022.

Tower of God – Season 2

We’ve been waiting for news of a hypothetical, but long-awaited season 2 for the animated series Tower of God for almost two years. During a panel held by Crunchyroll, the company has officially announced the start of a second season for one of the flagship anime of 2020. A first trailer and a visual were also presented, just to keep the community gathered around the webtoon (South Korean comic published online) from SIU waiting. No release date has yet been announced for season 2. of this animated series, the first of which was directed by Takashi Sano and produced by Telecom Animation Film.

It seems to me that season 1 of the animation was released yesterday, but now I will have the chance to see you all again with season 2! Akira, Your Name, Jujutsu Kaisen 0…

The American firm, which recently merged with Wakanim in France, is adding to its catalog many of the most cult animated feature films in the industry, with the exception of Ghibli-branded productions available on Netflix. It should however be specified that the arrival of these films depends on the laws in force according to the territories. According to the media timeline, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be available to French subscribers only 17 months after its theatrical release. Here is the list of movies announced by Crunchyroll:
