Crunchryolls is releasing a brand new trailer for its upcoming animated series, Orient, which features the personalities and motivations of the new shonen heroes.
The trailer focuses primarily on the two main characters in the series, highlighting their personalities and individual goals. The main hero of the new series is Musashi, a strong-character teenager who idolizes the samurai of the time. He is played by Yuma Uchida (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Jujutsu Kaisen). The other protagonist of the series, Kojiro Kanemaki, is the son of a samurai who is despised by his hometown. It is performed by Soma Saito (ODDTAXI, Suppose a child of Last Dungeon Boonies settles in a beginners town). The anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtaka’s shonen manga series is set to air as part of the streaming company’s winter 2022 lineup.
Uchida and Saito are joined by several other veteran vocal actors, including Rie Takahashi (Muteking the Dancing Hero, Fate / Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia), Satoshi Hino (Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Hiro Shimono (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, The Sleeping Princess in Demon Castle) and Azumi Waki (I killed Slimer for 300 years and hit my max level, My Next Villain Life: Every paths lead to destiny).
Orient is set in an alternate version of the Sengoku period of Japan, where the country is ruled by demons. The story follows Musashi who attempts to confront demons using his unique special power. The manga was first published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in May 2018 before being uploaded to Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine earlier this year.
