Miss Fantasmes T01 at Pika Edition – Release November 17, 2021

Miss Fantasmes – Tome 01 available on November 17, 2021 at Pika Édition

Miss Fantasies is a new love comedy from Pika Edition. It is the first work of the author, SEO Yukino, which has 3 volumes in Japan. The story plunges us into the daily life of Jun, a 21-year-old girl with a sulphurous look. While those around her think she is surrounded by suitors, she encounters difficulties in her love life and it is not by chance. Indeed, Jun tends to make a lot of films as soon as she crosses paths with a step-kid, which completely disconnects her from reality, causing her to lose all her means.

Why do we love? Miss Fantasies is a humorous and refreshing manga. It highlights the challenges young adults can face when trying to bond with new people. Jun’s personal fantasies will put her in incredible situations that can remind us (for the older ones) of our adolescence.

Three Yakuzas for an Otaku T03 at Soleil – Release November 17, 2021

Three Yakuza for an Otaku at Soleil
Three Yakuza for an Otaku at Soleil

Three Yakuza for an Otaku is new for 2021 at Soleil. We hear about it relatively well although the manga is still full of humor. The story immerses us in the life of Sakura, a young otaku who finds herself caught up in the story of the succession of a yakuza clan.

Why do we love? The scenario is totally improbable! There is a real gap between the different personalities of the characters which creates situations full of adventures and humor! The author’s talent for drawing, for which this is the first manga, brings the expressions of the characters to life and makes them even more endearing.

Yuyu Hakusho – Star Edition T01 & T02 chez Kana – Release November 19, 2021

Yuyu Hakusho is an old manga from the 90s. It is also the first work of TOGASHI Yoshihiro that we know in particular for the series Hunter x Hunter. The original manga has 19 volumes but benefits this year from a reissue with new covers, new lettering and a revised and updated translation. For those who do not know this manga, it immerses us in the adventures of Yusuke Urameshi, a young thug of 14 years. While one day he skips school, he is hit by a car trying to save a young child. While his death was not foreseen by the afterlife, he is given a chance to resurrect.

Why do we love? We must already understand that Yuyu Hakusho has greatly participated in the development of the manga in the same way as Saint Seiya Where Dragon Ball. Full of humor and fights, Yuyu Hakusho is clearly a classic of the Shônen manga. In addition, he was very innovative for the time. A classic that is good to see again!

The Quintessential Quintuplets T12 at Pika – Released November 24, 2021

The Quintessential Quintuplets is a short series of 14 volumes. This is a love comedy featuring 5 quintuplicated young girls and their private teacher of the same age, Fûtarô. While the latter thought he had an easy student job as a private teacher, he quickly becomes disillusioned when he realizes that he has to teach not to one student but to 5, each of whom are equally dunces. The manga has also been adapted into an anime and is available on Crunchyroll.

Why do we love? The manga was eagerly awaited by the French community. Indeed, the first volume opens with the marriage between Fûtarô and one of the quintuplets. We therefore wonder from the start who our young teenager will end up marrying. The fact that the sisters are all more dunce than the others creates a real game of cat and mouse between them and their teacher who will have to be creative to convince them to study! The Quintessential Quintuplets is a must-read humorous manga!

In addition to this selection, other licenses that have already been discussed in the TOP Manga to read are also planned. For example, you can find Blue Period, whose anime adaptation is currently airing on Netflix, or Sidooh and Undead Unluck.
