US box office: “Morbius” very large leader, “The Batman” clings to the podium, Jamie Lee Curtis in the top 10

Receipts stabilized and new leader at the top of the American box office. With 79.1 million dollars generated between April 1 and 3, American cinema seems to have found its stride. Half of these recipes, however, are based on a single film, the novelty of the week, “Morbius”. Led by Jared Leto and Matt Smith, the film, distributed by Columbia Pictures, won with 39.1 million green tickets collected.

‘The Batman’ nears $350 million

It is far ahead of “The Secret of the Lost City”, short-lived box office leader. Led by Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe, the film by Aaron and Adam Nee saw its receipts halved in the space of a week, with an additional $14.8 million in its purse. “The Batman” clings, meanwhile, to the podium with a weekend of 10.8 million greenbacks bearing the image of George Washington. The film with Robert Pattinson thus accumulates 349 million dollars at the end of its fifth week of exploitation.

Behind, “Uncharted” and Tom Holland resist in fourth position for their seventh weekend in theaters with 3.6 million additional dollars, for a cumulative box office of 138.9 million across the Atlantic. The film, distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment, precedes, like last week, the animated film “Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie”. The big-screen prequel to the hit manga of the same name grossed less than $2 million this weekend.

This weekend again, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” remains in the elite. Distributed by Sony Pictures, the film worn by Tom Holland even progresses by one position, to 7th place, and brings its revenues to 802 million dollars, in the United States alone. The only revenue increase of the week is, finally, to be credited to “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Tenth in the US box office, the film worn by Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis doubled its revenue in the space of a week and achieved the best average per print at the US box office last weekend.
