‘Boku no Hero Academia’: everything we know about the new summer OVAs of the anime series

Season 6 of ‘boku no hero academia‘ is almost here with the fall releases, and although we still don’t know much about what we can expect from these new chapters we have two OVAs ahead to quench thirst and the desire for more anime.

This summer two special episodes are released, and we have already been able to see a first poster and more details about the first of them have been confirmed: ‘Boku no Hero Academia: Hero League Baseball‘.

First in theaters and then streaming

As confirmed in the latest issue of the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jumpthe two OVAs of ‘Boku No Hero’ will be released first in theaters in Japan and later will be able to be seen in streaming. The first OVA will hit the big screen from June 16 to 19although there are no more details about the second yet.

As was predicted, Crunchyroll has confirmed that will broadcast the two OVAs of ‘Boku no Hero Academia’ during the summer 2022. There is no specific date yet but we have a guaranteed release window in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America and Europe (except French-speaking countries).

The first of these two episodes is ‘Boku no Hero Academia: Hero League Baseball’, which revolves around a baseball game where the use of the quirks of the participants is encouraged and the UA students end up competing. And with the premiere so close, an official poster has already been shared where we can see several of the Class 1-A students ready for the epic match.

On the poster you can see** Kirishima, Amajiki, Shoji, Gang Orca, and Fatgum** in the blue uniform that the Gang Orca Orcas will wear, while Kaminari, Ojiro, Sadou, Mineta and Mt. Lady they wear the blue uniform of the Shishide Lionels.

According to the official synopsis confirmed by Crunchyroll: “HLB stands for ‘Baseball Heroes League’ – it’s a baseball league founded by pro heroes who love baseball! It’s game day! The final HLB championship game is between Gang Orca and Shishido’s two rival agencies. They form a team (“Orcas” and “Lions”) to compete. In the world of HLB, there are no rules: of course, using your quirks is accepted. However, just when the game is about to end, they are interrupted by a villain. Who will be the winner of HLB?

As confirmed from the official anime account, the second OVA will be called ‘”Warae! Jigoku no You ni” (‘Laugh! As if you were in hell’). There is not much more information yet but a first image has been revealed and it seems that the plot will revolve around a patrol of Midoriya, Todoroki and Bakugo beside endeavor in which they try to stop a graffiti artist known as Mr Smiley.

We also have an official synopsis for this second OVA: “Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki take part in an internship with the Number 1 Hero, Endeavor’s agency. One of their tasks these days is to find a villain (“Smiley”) who will draw doodles on However, since the urgency is so low, they let other pro-heroes solve this case. One day, Smiley draws a doodle on Endeavor’s house! Endeavor himself and the trio 1-A are furious. they go looking for the villain. However, Smiley’s quirk turns out to be something ridiculous but powerful… it’s to make anyone who looks him in the eye laugh hysterically! Could the team capture the villain and stop laughing, please? favour?”

How to catch up with ‘Boku no Hero Academia’

Right now it is quite difficult to see the anime in full. The first two seasons of the series are in the catalog of Netflixwhile the third is not on any streaming service and the fourth and fifth are available on Crunchyroll.
