Such has been the popularity of My Hero Academia that a young Mexican university student showed his love for franchise and presented a thesis based on the work of the same name, this to receive his degree as a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Through social media, name thesis “Marketing of the foreign animation of the work My Hero Academia by the Funimation platform in Mexico” of a student from the Institute of Sciences and Higher Studies of Tamaulipas (ICEST), went viral when receiving both negative and positive comments.
This thesis caused controversy, since some celebrated that the student will be titled for his creativity, while others rejected that said document, which is considered one of the most important in life, is taken as a joke when touching this type of subject .
According to the post, the thesis is dedicated to the analysis of the distribution of the anime series through the platform Funimation.
Let us remember that it is not the first time that a student takes anime or manga as research work for university assignments, since it does a year ago a graduate student from the Catholic University of San Pablo in Bolivia, presented a thesis on One Piece.
The work titled “The process of cultural consumption of the users of the Facebook group Los Mugiwara (One Piece from the manga and anime One Piece during 2019”, by the student of Social Communication, Daniela Balderrama, studied the approach of the consumers of this group to the series, in which she explores the role they play in giving an evaluation to the series.
Two years ago, another student from the Faculty of Communication Arts and Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Perú, obtained her degree thanks to Naruto after presenting a thesis with the name “The path of pain: the speech on the war cycle of violence presented in the anime Shonen Naruto Shippuden from the story of Nagato / Pain”.
The thesis presented by the young Mexican inspired some Internet users who declared that they will also do the thesis work on their favorite series.
My Hero Academia tells the story of Izuku Midoriya, who lives in a world where 80% of the population has developed abilities to make way for the creation of heroes and villains, but he belongs to the people who have no gift. One day he meets one of the best superheroes who offers him to inherit his powers, at the same time that he begins to study at the UA to learn how to use his new don.
Currently the story has an anime series of 5 seasons, 3 films and 2 video games, while the manga began its publication in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and already has a total of 30 compilation volumes.
