My Hero Academia It is undoubtedly one of the most popular manga and anime of the moment, so it is not surprising that it already has multiple video games behind it. One of the most recent is My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero, a mobile title that debuted last year in Japan and recently arrived in Latin America. However, one item caught the attention of community members and sparked a heated debate.
What happens is that a reddit user exposed a controversial modification suffered by the suit of Momo Yaoyorozu, one of the most popular female characters in the franchise, in the promotionals of the mobile video game developed by the Chinese company Xin Yuan Studios.
Find out: Complaints from the West don’t change the way anime is produced in Japan
It is necessary to remember that Momo Yaoyorozu has the ability to create and extract any material from his body discovered through the molecular manipulation of his cells. It seems that the design of his suit was thought with the idea of complementing that ability.
In the manga and anime, Momo’s outfit has a high neckline that reveals a sector of her chest. However, in the promotional My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero we can see that the opening was removed and, in addition, there is a small decrease in the size of her bust.
Of course, it is necessary to mention that this modification is only present in the advertisements. In this way, Momo Yaoyorozu’s original costume appears unchanged within the video game. Some users theorize that this is a measure to avoid controversy in countries like China or that the artist responsible for the illustration was simply based on the costume of the character that appears in a Japanese play.

The apparent censorship of the underage student’s attire once again questioned the issue of the oversexualization of female characters in manga, anime and video games. In the reddit publication we can see that many fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the modification, while another sector defended it and assured that Momo’s power does not justify her great cleavage.
“By adding a zipper, her suit becomes more believable because when she doesn’t need to expose her skin, she can just zip it up. Also, if you are in an emergency you can create something without the need to open the suit and the object would break the zipper. ”, Argued a user in the comments of the publication.
