At the latest Jump Festa event, Shonen creator Kohei Horikoshi shared that My Hero Academia the manga had about a year of story left, which can certainly be seen in the current events of the printed page as the League of Villains gather power and prepare for their final assault on hero society. With Shigaraki recently wrapping up his battle against Star and Stripe, the heroes have had a bit more time to plan, with All Might explaining how the young heroes of UA Academy and the professionals will work together to defeat the League of Villains.
Warning. If you haven’t read the last chapter of My Hero Academia manga chapter 340, you might want to skip the rest of this article as we will be diving into spoiler territory.
Early in the chapter, All Might lays out the idea that Shigaraki and All For One must be separated, as the power of these two villains alone would be impossible to surpass if they worked together in tandem. While talking with one of the Wild members, Wild Pussycats, the former symbol of peace elaborates on the idea applying to the League of Villains, where the heroes should band together and help separate the villains:
“Exactly. All. Each is one of the main agents of the enemy! We must divide to better conquer! One by one ! To that end, we must lure each of these villains to defeat!”
Of course, that might be easier said than done given the vast network All For One forces have created so far. However, the League of Villains isn’t exactly a unified front, and if Dabi and Toga had the opportunity to get away with it individually, they might jump at the chance.
Almost every member of the League of Villains has an individual ax to grind with a hero from UA Academy, with Dabi set to battle his brother Shoto Todoroki and Toga most likely going up against Uravity. Needless to say, it looks like the heroes and villains are about to get their own major battles before the story of my hero academia coming to an end.
Do you think the new strategy of divide and conquer will be a success for the heroes? Feel free to let us know in the comments or hit me up directly on Twitter @EVComedy to talk all things comics, anime, and the world of UA Academy.
