My Hero Academia is a popular superhero anime series that also has many elements of the school genre, hence its name. In any real or fictional school, students vary somewhat in age, and the oldest in a class may be nine or ten months older than the youngest. Some students will turn years earlier than others in the same school year.
The same happens in My Hero Academia, which is not much different from normal high school. The students in classes 1-A and 1-B are between 15 and 16 years old, and some of them fulfill them at the beginning of the year, while others do not fulfill them until after the New Year.
10 Shihai Kuroiro – November 1
Shihai Kuroiro is the tenth oldest student in Class 1-B, being only a few days older than Yosetsu Awase, who was born on November 7. Shihai’s Quirk is based on the color black, and he can melt his body into anything black and move sneakily. This makes him very effective against the Tokoyami Fumikage, which is based on darkness.

Like many of his companions, Shihai has rarely been seen fighting, but he did perform well against Fumikage and Momo’s team in the joint training battle arc, taking Fumikage by surprise. Still, he and Fumikage respect each other a lot.
9 Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu –16 de octubre
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu is, in many ways, Eijiro Kirishima’s class 1-A twin, including the fact that they both share a birthday in mid-October. They both also have a skin-hardening Quirk, but Tetsutetsu’s has a steel theme while Eijiro’s doesn’t. In fact, Tetsutetsu hinted that eating an excess of iron strengthens his Quirk.
Tetsutetsu faced Eijiro during the United States sports festival, and the close match was only decided when Eijiro narrowly won an arm wrestling contest. He and Eijiro hold each other in high regard, and Tetsutetsu even cheered on Eijiro against Katsuki Bakugo in a later match.
8 Setsuna Tokage –13 de octubre
Setsuna Tokage’s birthday, October 13, may vaguely remind anime fans of the spooky Halloween party, but she doesn’t really have a horror theme with her Quirk or costume. Instead, Setsuna looks more like a lizard, shedding its tail to distract predators.
In battle, Setsuna can divide her body into many pieces and make them float, either to spy on the enemy or to attack them from many directions at once. He faced Katsuki Bakugo directly, but lost to him and took it pretty badly. However, Vlad King was quick to reassure her and her companions after the fight.
7 Ibara Shiozaki – September 8
Ibara Shiozaki is a gentle and peaceful apprentice heroine, and she will never shed blood in battle if she can help it. Luckily for her, her vine-shaped Quirk is perfect for capturing and appeasing villains without harming them, and has many applications in both attack and defense.
Ibara quickly got rid of the electric Denki Kaminari in their sports festival match, before quickly losing to Tenya Iida in the next match. Afterwards, she fought well against the Class 1-A team in the joint training arc, but Hitoshi Shinso’s voice trick fooled her and Jurota, leading to their defeat.
6 Hiryu Rin – July 14
Hiryu Rin can perform ranged attacks with his scale-based Quirk, and he can quickly fire hundreds of scales from each arm to cover his comrades. Hiryu is a solid team player, although his firepower is somewhat limited. His teammates are in charge of landing the final blow.
Hiryu is one of the few foreign students in the US, being a Chinese boy in an elegant hero costume reminiscent of the Jiangshi, a kind of Chinese vampire. His name can also be read in Chinese as Lin Fei-Long.
5 Juzo Honenuki –20 de junio
Juzo Honenuki, aka Mudman, is one of the oldest students in Class 1-B, and has a mature and dignified personality. He’s competitive without being a sore loser, and he can stay calm in battle and fight to the end. In this sense, he looks a lot like Tenya Iida.
Juzo’s Quirk allows him to soften a non-living object just by touching it, and turn the ground itself into a pit of soft tar where enemies can get trapped up to the waist, or even sink to the neck. Juzo even used this ability on Shoto’s ice, which shocked Class 1-A.
4 Sen Kaibara –12 de junio
Sen Kaibara rarely steals the scene, as he has a calm and carefree personality and a mediocre Quirk, Gyrate, to his name. However, he takes his studies seriously, and did what he could to support his teammates during the training arc in conjunction with his drill-type attacks.
Sen was born on June 12, which makes him the fourth oldest student in Class 1-B, and his mature personality makes him something of an older brother, in a humble way. Maybe in the future he will finally get his big break and become an incredible simulation hero for all to admire.
3 Kosei Tsuburuba –19 de mayo
Kosei Tsuburuba hasn’t done much to stand out from the crowd, and even for Class 1-B, he’s really a background character. Not much is known about him, but he is the third oldest student in his class, despite his goofy personality in battle.
Kosei’s Quirk allows him to harden the air itself and form transparent but solid barriers or cubes to trap someone. You can do this to restrict an enemy’s movements or protect an ally from harm. He also seems to be surprisingly in love with Tsuyu Asui, the frog girl, and greatly enjoys it when she leads him around with his tongue.
2 Neito Monoma –13 de mayo
Along with his partner Itsuka Kendo, copycat hero Neito Monoma is one of the best-known students of Class 1-B, especially since he has a heinous rivalry with Class 1-A that borders on obsession. It’s often itsuka’s turn to hold him back and apologize to Class 1-A.
However, Neito is not all lip service. He is a very insightful and intelligent hero who can make good use of the Quirks of his enemies and allies alike, and like Izuku, he has a habit of studying the Quirks and fighting styles of other people. His copy Quirk can even mimic One for All and Rewind, but he can’t copy the energy needed to power those Quirks, which means he can’t actually use them.
1 Pony Tsunotori –21 de abril
Pony Tsunotori is the oldest student in Class 1-B, and she is also one of the oldest UA freshmen overall, being only a day younger than Katsuki Bakugo in Class 1-A. In addition, Pony has the distinction of being one of the few foreign students at the UA, being of American origin. Her mother tongue is English, but she is doing her best to learn Japanese as well.
Pony’s Quirk allows her to fire her massive horns at her enemies as ranged weapons, and she can also stand on them and levitate in midair. He did this to stay out of Mezo Shoji’s reach and force their battle to end in a draw. You’d rather be at peace than risk losing to him.
