My Hero Academia: This was the first sketches of Momo Yaoyorozu, the star student of the UA Academy | Spaghetti Code

There are many characters of My Hero Academia created by Kohei Horikoshi to date, however, among the female (considering superheroines and villains), there is no one we admire as much as Momo Yaoyorozu. The Vice President of Class 1-A has won our hearts not only thanks to her profound beauty, but also her courageous and sensitive personality, in addition to the great kicks that we have seen her land more than one criminal.

Interestingly, the character we have seen from the first episode of the series, to My Hero Academia season 5, It is not exactly the same as its creator had devised. !See for yourself with the original Momo Yaoyorozu design!

Horikoshi knows how to draw hair

The initial sketches of Momo Yaoyorozu, the waifu indisputable in the Draws of My Hero Academia, They were made by Kohei Horikoshi around 2009, shortly before he began serializing the manga in the Shonen Jump, but they were not shown to the public until 2016 with the publication of the book My Hero Academia Official Character Book Ultra Archive, the first collection of profiles of heroes and villains, as well as other curious information, that was made about the series.

The first thing that stands out in this sketch is the minimal variation between the first designs of the character and the final result, which shows how well defined he was already by Kohei Horikoshi. In this way we noticed that Creati already had her distinctive ponytail, although her hair did not end in tips like now. We also noticed that the character was thinner.

The superhero costume is the one that has received the greatest transformations. For starters, it’s about a set of two pieces and not one, plus we can see a very small mask above the nose of Momo (some kind of gadget to be able to activate his Don?), which in the official version of the character disappeared. Some fans have tried to recreate this outfit with fanarts proving that Horikoshi could be wrong in discarding this design.

Fortunately, the changes made by this author with Momo were not as drastic as those seen in the first design of Blanket, so we can assume that Creati was extremely lucky. What if the mangaka had transformed her into a heroine with grotesque Toad powers? Certainly Froppy would have won a partner, but fans of My Hero Academia we would have lost one of the most beautiful waifus that has given us the anime and the manga.

And you, what do you think of the initial designs that Momo Yaoyorozu had?
