Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is the sequel to the series Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, and follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki’s son Boruto. The story takes place a decade after the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War, in which the ninja world appears to be at peace.
Unsurprisingly, Naruto Uzumaki is the Seventh Hokage of the village, and his generation is in control of most things in the village. Surprisingly, there are quite a few characters from Naruto that have not yet appeared in the canon of Boruto, despite being very important in the predecessor series.
10 Alas, the fourth Raikage has not appeared in Boruto
Ay is the Fourth Raikage of Kumogakure and without a doubt one of his strongest Kage, if not the strongest. On Naruto, played a major role in the Fourth Great Ninja War, in which he led the allied shinobi forces from the front. Although Ay certainly retired years after the war, he is still more than capable when it comes to being a ninja. So far, he has not made a single appearance in the manga of Boruto.

9 Omoi was a respected Jonin in Naruto’s story
Omoi, a jonin from Kumogakure, is another character who has not appeared in the canon of Boruto up to now. Although his role in Naruto as Jonin was very limited, fans expected him to have a greater one in Boruto next to Darui. Omoi has been seen on a few occasions in the anime filler, but in manga canon he has yet to appear. After all of his exploits in the Fourth Great Ninja War, it goes without saying that Omoi would be quite an intriguing character in Boruto.
8 Hut Akimichi survived the fourth great ninja war
One of the most powerful in Konohagakure, Choza Akimichi joined the Fourth Great Ninja War and did very well against whoever he fought. Along with Inoichi Yamanaka and Shikaku Nara, he left his mark on history, but of the three, he was the only one who survived the war. One would expect him to be a village elder and participate in the important decisions of the village. Boruto, but he is nowhere to be seen.
7 Kitsuchi was completely omitted from canon
Kitsuchi is the son of Onoki and is an incredibly powerful ninja. As the Jonin of his village, Kitsuchi played quite a significant role in the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he even fought to subdue the Statue of Gedo at one point.
After Onoki, one would expect him to take over and rule the village, but he was completely ignored in history. The anime offers fans a glimpse of Kitsuchi, but has no role in the canon material yet.
6 Baki was one of the strongest in Sunagakure in his day
Sunagakure is not as blessed with powerful shinobi as Konohagakure, but that doesn’t mean that no worthy ninja ever emerged from this village. Baki, the leader of Gaara’s team during the Chunin Exams arc, was quite important in the story in his day. Sadly, it didn’t have much prominence in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and has been completely ignored in the history of Boruto.
5 Hidan is still alive in the Nara clan forest in Konohagakure
Hidan was one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki, and he played quite an important role in the story. Despite being defeated by Shikamaru, Hidan is still alive as he remains buried in the Nara clan forest. Hidan could have been a great antagonist in the series Boruto, but the writers have decided not to go down that path. For now, he has not made a single appearance in Boruto, and that is not likely to change anytime soon.
4 Kabuto Yakushi does not appear in the manga
Kabuto Yakushi was one of the biggest villains in the series Naruto, and played a very important role in the Fourth Great Ninja War. After being redeemed, Kabuto was allowed to run an orphanage, as seen in Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and on the manga derived from Scarlet spring.
Although this story was adapted into the anime of Boruto, is not part of the manga. In the manga of BorutoKabuto Yakushi has yet to make a single appearance even though he has all the knowledge in the world, along with tremendous ability in the way of the ninja.
3 Might Guy has become Konohagakure’s forgotten hero
Guy was once one of the strongest Jonin in the series Naruto, but after his fight against Madara, he became quite weak. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Guy achieved legendary status and would be expected to play a huge role in raising the next generation, but he has not appeared in the manga at all. Boruto. In the anime, some fillers have given his character some screen time, but he has yet to play any significant role in the story.
2 Hagoromo Otsutsuki has transcended time long ago
The Sage of the Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, is known to have died centuries ago, but his chakra was so powerful that he transcended time and managed to stay in shape. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Hagoromo Otsutsuki manifested himself and helped Naruto and Sasuke defeat Madara and Kaguya Otsutsuki. With the threat from the Otsutsuki Clan greater than ever, one would expect Hagoromo to make an appearance, but he has had no luck so far.
