Jamesey Bolivar Maribojo, 29, is a single father from Davao City, Philippines. He is a property consultant at a large real estate developer and a huge fan of Naruto: Shippūdenone of the longest-running manga and anime series, with exactly 500 episodes spanning a decade from 2007 to 2017. When their first child was born in June 2020, Maribojo decided to name him Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze in honor of the most recognized characters in the series: Naruto Uzumaki and his father Minato Namikaze.
«At first no one believed that was his full name because I kept calling him Naruto. Many asked me if it was his real name», Maribojo mentioned to the media Esquire Philippines. But it wasn’t just his obsession with the anime series that motivated him to name his son as the lead.
«Until now, I am an avid fan of anime since the beginning. If you know Naruto: Shippuden, his story revolves around a boy who grew up without a family. As a single father, I take care of my son 24 hours a day. But before his mother and I parted ways, we agreed to call him Naruto.», he mentioned. «But I was not satisfied with calling him “Naruto”. I included the last name of his mother, Kushina Uzumaki, and his father, Minato Namikaze. My son ended up being called Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze P. Maribojo».
But what was his family’s reaction to the strange name? «They do not like it. They got angry. They said that he would have difficulty writing his name and that they would intimidate him. But they couldn’t do anything», commented on it. So, what will Maribojo call her next child, if she remarries in the future? «Probably Sasuke Uchiha», he commented. Sasuke Uchiha is a descendant of a very powerful ninja clan and is one of the most formidable characters in the series alongside Naruto.
